  1. too much beer mr... what are you thinking... learn from 3ooz xxx's mistake and so many other 'returnees'! :slap: :nono:
  2. south east south central look for yourself :p keep checking the 'events and meetings' sections for ones near you :)
  3. you should have put this post up b4 you sold it... we would have put you straight then and you wouldnt have this dilema :slap:
  4. i have 2 amps running in mine, 1 for the perfect 10 and 1 for my kappa components up front, the speakers in the rear are run off the head unit for a bit of balance... with this setup i havent had any problems using the standard alternator or battery :) mine doesnt have the most powerful amps in the world as it isnt setup for masses of volume, just for a good, crisp and balanced sound quality so i guess it all depends on how far you are wanting to go. there are lot of write ups on what you can fit where and how but i have 13.5" components in the doors having modified the existing speaker mount, my tweeters are mounted on alluminium brackets just behind the airvents in the doors and the crossovers are tucked away in the dash. for the moment i only have 4x6" speakers in the standard rear fitment but i eventually plan on upgrading to a similar setup as the front to get the ultimate surround balance as they can tend to get drowned out by the bass at times :) HTH...
  5. i just used cardboard to get the 'top shelf' profile as the trim contours and changes shape by the time you get down to the carpet... besides, the carpet isnt a particularly good fit lol!
  6. lol i was trying to find them pictures but couldnt! if your local scartlead you can borrow that box that funky si put pics up of as its just sitting in the spare room atm... dont know how local you are but you could take measurements and make one yourself :) though tbh... the ones that you see on the tt.net post above do look better and i will eventually be re-making my existing box to look more like that
  7. what if there is no t&c's to the warranty? just written on the invoice?
  8. under the passenger footwell and under the plywood kickpanel is the oem place for the ecu... along with other control units... take a picture and post it up, then some1 will be able to confirm for sure :) as for the insurance thing... according to the adverts, direct line are offering no claims discounts to named drivers of policies... if this is the case then it would be worth becoming a named driver, it will save you some serious money and put your mind at ease. tpft could see you with nothing god forbid and if you cancel half way through a year, you wont get any ncb so youll have to start again a year from fresh! check out direct line and see how genuine it is :)
  9. you dont have brake cables as such... the ss brake lines are hoses rather than cables which hydraulic fluid flows through. if your brakes work well when you brake hard then they are probably fine... squeaking and creaking whilst breaking lightly (for example on a hill at traffic lights) is normal when the pads slip around the disc so its probably ok. just be sure that your brakes can actually stop you when you need to emergency stop! is it an auto?
  10. a big 'belated' welcome to the club and congrats on your new purchase :) there are plenty of places available for the replacement of your hoses but it depends what you want for it... for any uprated parts you require you have dta motorsport/smithys-place... if you want standard but new and genuine nissan parts mike feeney at mjp eastern autos is your man... and if your looking for a second hand good set andyz@supercarparts will be able to sort you. all availble through the traders section of the forum. dont forget, it might be worth sticking up a wanted thread in the approriate section as there are generally always lots of people breaking zeds or selling bits. alternatively you have the likes of the z centre in the uk and z1 motorsports over the pond...
  11. 1 bar = 14psi if you were boosting 14 bar, youd be driving a nuke! if your thinking of the boost gauge on jap models, they use metric... kg/cm2 so instead of pounds per square inch, its kilograms per square centimeter the conversion is about 1kg/cm2 = 14psi
  12. i guess i should count myself lucky in some ways as yours put you considerably out of pocket :( anyway, back to the topic... i always liked the calendar pics of your zed but looking at them now compared to looking at your recent thread pics, it looks so much better now. maybe its the spoiler thats made an improvement or maybe its just the photography and angles youve caught it at, either way... in next years calendar? ;)
  13. tbh graham... thats exactly the way i feel... like si's mine is structurally mint so it would be a shame to lose it... its just the annoying principle of being shafted by a cowboy. :headvswal

  18. i know!... lost interest atm though... bought my 2nd zed over 4 months ago now, i have driven it 4 times and havent even seen it for nearly 2 months! good old 300zx.co.uk traders!
