I'm going to be arranging a meet at the south mimms services on the m25 sometime soon...
  2. My previous tester mot'd it for the last 7 years and has never probed it. He's not a million miles away but is prefer to go to one of the many garages that are very close to me.
  3. I'm in the market for a new tester for my mots, it's a 93 jdm, I guess I better ask around and find a tester that is sure it doesn't require a cat test?
  4. Of course you did, how could I forget! Perfection.
  5. Sorry dude I was asking fabtanks. I'm sure those wheels will sell easily though. I think they've been well received ever since Apache fitted them to his. Offsets will help a prospective buyer but in this case your pics show exactly what fitment they're getting so may not be as relevant. What are you looking to replace them with out of curiosity?
  6. Noz on here can test injectors for you...
  7. CheerZ chaps, it's the lower one of those pics I require Jeff.
  8. Does anybody know if the plug/connector on the cruise control ECU changed from series 1 to series 2 or auto to manual? I have a couple of ECU's here that the plug from my JDM 93 man TT won't marry up to. One is from a JDM series 1 auto TT and the other from an unknown UK spec, both of which have the same socket but my plug is slightly too big for them. Joel.
  9. It is quite likely that they will be flying away to a new 'nest'...
  10. Removed something I never thought I would... My illuminated '300ZX' rear quarter window shades!
  11. That's what the dipstick is for! :)
  12. It will be easier after October as you can do it month by month if you wish. Also, with the new system, I imagine cancelling what you have remaining for a refund will be easier as it will become a legal requirement to cancel all remaining tax when selling a car. I'd like to think that they have prepared for this increased traffic for refunds!
  13. In fact here this list: Manufacturers with CarPlay in their 2014 cars: Ferrari Honda Hyundai Mercedes-Benz Volvo These manufacturers are referred to by Apple as "commited partners" and are expected to introduce CarPlay at a later date: BMW Chevrolet Ford Jaguar KIA Land Rover Mitsubishi Motors Nissan Opel PSA Peugeot Citroën Subaru Suzuki Toyota Admittedly, as per the title of your thread, the only real relevance of most posts relate the carputer as the 'at a sensible price' part has just gone out the window with an apple product! I'll stop wibbling!
  14. Stop it! I've had enough of car computers, I am now loving the simplicity of a normal headunit after nearly 7 years of endless possibility and bespoke installation with my car PC. Although, Ferrari, Mercedes and Volvo are signed up to iOS in car (CarPlay) systems and many big name manufacturers are have signed up as committed partners! This interests me and I'm hopeful that apple will soon develop a stand alone universal double din headunit with the same technology.
  15. Jeff, in your experience, how does the feel of your 6 puck clutch feel in comparison to an RPS Max jobbie?
  16. Happy birthday matey, hope it's a good one :)
  17. You need to run to the shop and get some smaller jeans!
  18. Let's not forget the lad that had thrown in the towel with his zed and decided to break it. Whilst under the car one evening it collapsed on him causing fatal injuries. I understand he was found the following morning. Another way that your beloved machine can bite back and definitely a lesson to be learned regarding safe practices when hauling yourself underneath.
  19. I didn't realise you sold bespoke clutches too Jeff, how much do you sell them for and have you sold many?
  20. You're 15 stone because you're about 10ft tall!
  21. Bugger. My experience of these cars is that any rust visible from the outside of the sill is a serious problem showing itself, 99.9% of the time it's come from the inside out and will be a terrible mess inside! I would personally not consider buying a zed unless I have looked inside the sill sections even if no rust was evident externally. This is one of the most important inspections to carry out on a targa top z32 structurally IMO. Simon's car was a fresh import and he has not used it in the winter uk climate. Unfortunately, imports have declined to very small numbers and most imports have been used during the uk winters, slowly being eaten away from the inside!
  22. The only difference is, smoking isn't cool, the noise of a closed system is! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Si8VR7aAXnQ I think it's another one of those topics where the people that have done it will tell you it's fine, had no problems and everyone else will tell you to stop being a jerk and keep the factory recircs. Seemingly, lots of people have deleted pressure relief in the system (across other marques) and very little in the way of horror stories exist. Those that do have issues, much the same as smoking again, you can't really prove that it was the cause 100%. IMO, it boils down to mileage/condition of the turbos when you do it initially. If they're new then you will more than likely get a decent (rest of your ownership) lifespan out of it but I wouldn't expect the 120k+ life expectancy of the OEM setup.
