  1. I've tried 100W with uprated wiring and whilst there was a massive improvement, they only lasted about a week and burnt out each time. Can't afford to pay out £15 in bulbs every week on top of petrol! The best I have found is the 30% brighter jobbies that are still 55W from Halfords etc.
  2. I've had the car running at 15psi with a peak/scramble boost of 16psi for over 18 months with no problems or detonation except when it was really warm in summer and I turned it down a bit. After getting my car back after standing for 10 months in the bodyshop and having big intercoolers fitted, a new stainless de-cat exhaust (it had a HKS one before), new Blitz SUS intake (used to have a mucky K&N cone) and replacing the PCV valves, for some reason the car started detonating badly at much lower pressures. I had to turn the boost down to 11psi or lower, when in theory the car should have been fine at 16psi with the big IC's, especially as it's winter and has been freezing cold - ideal conditions. Can't understand why it suddenly decided to do this?
  3. Well done Muff Driver! How about rebuilding my engine and box? ;)
  4. Hhhmmmm didn't realise the gaskets and hoses would be so much :( but I've already got the big I.C's. If my house sale comes off I'll have a bit of cash to get this money pit back on the road. I can't believe the gearbox went bang and then within a couple of months the engine has imploded! FFS I owe so much cash and have put so much time into this Z that I have no choice but to spend more LOL
  5. I may not have any choice as it looks like i've bust a conrod!
  6. What sort of money am I looking at to get the following and any other bits that would be needed/recommended? How much is fitting going to cost roughly? My engine is shagged so I'm looking at doing a major upgrade at the same time. 1, Forged Pistons (what are available?) 2, Big Injectors 3, Big Turbos (which ones to go for?) Chris.
  7. Prop shaft centre support bearing is the usual one. I had this go on mine and got it replaced under warranty from the dealer. The car sounded like a bus but after replacing this it was smooth and quiet.

Just posting to keep the numbers going!
  9. I called them this afternoon and he said he has 2 in stock at about £495 each.
  10. 1. Stop at the many petrol stations. 2. Tow a spare Z behind you. Good luck!
  11. LOL I never quite realised how much people can get into their religion until I was round at my girlfriends dads house watching TV. He is a preacher at some unheard of christian church wotsit but I was amazed when we were watching a program about the planets and the big bang theory of the start of the universe. He suddenly got pissed off, shouted "what a load of rubbish, these people don't know what they are talking about!" and got up and switched the TV off! LOL Maybe all the scientists are wrong and Einstein and Darwin made it all up? I know which theory I believe out of provable scientific experiments or some unbelievable old book full of "miracles" written by an unknown guy thousands of years ago.

Bigger throttle bodies off the 240Z - seen this mentioned before somewhere. He's had a hell of a lot of work done to only achieve 330bhp?!?!
  13. Are there any good friends out there who can lend me an engine and gearbox? ;)

Hey it's nice to see another female on the forum and even better that it's one of the extra special SILVER models! :D
  15. I have always dreamed about owning a Diablo and bought a mag (Evo?) a couple of months back with an article on used supercars for £50K and what to look out for. They basically said the Diablo is the ultimate but the running costs are staggering. The thing that made me realise how "cheap" my Z is was the price to replace the clutch on the Diablo... £6K!! One owner had it go twice within a few thousand miles too! :(
  16. When I spoke to Ripoff UK last year they said the part number was the same as the old one but it was listed as an updated/replacement item.
  17. The PTU supplied by Nissan UK is the new series 2 type but costs about £320! From Courtesy it works out at about £130 if I remember rightly and mine arrived 2 days later (the same time Nissan UK quoted me!)
  18. LOL Set up a stall near the entrance selling nails so everyone can have a go. Why keep it to the BIG4?! :D
  19. He's got to fit the rest yet so I think he'll miss Billing by 3 months ;) Looks good Duffer but will it run or did you put the turbos on the wrong way round? :D
  20. It wouldn't be the first time something resembling a length of intestine came out of there! ;) LOL
  21. So does your 6 pack look like a 7 pack now? You must be GUTTED! :D LOL
  22. Similar thing happened to me Timmy mate. I got stopped for doing about 55 on a 40 limit dual carriageway. The copper said it was a fixed penalty of 3 points, £30 fine and then asked for my documents. I didn't have them on me so I had to produce at the cop shop within 7 days. I had just sent my licence off to DVLA with £20 to get a clean one as all my points (lots!) were all out of date! Doh! Told the copper who stopped me this and he said "Sorry but I'll have to caution you that driving without a licence is an offence" Went to the station a few days later and explained and again they said they would have to charge me with driving without a licence. I said I've got a licence it's just at the DVLA so there's nothing I can do. Told them to speak to DVLA to verify I have a licence and they said they couldn't do that. To make matters worse they said as I had no licence the copper wasn't allowed to give me a fixed penalty so it had to go to court instead. Got the summons through and pleaded guilty to the speeding but luckily in the time it all took my licence arrived back so they dropped the no licence charge. What really pissed me off is that instead of the 3 points and £30 fixed penalty, the court gave me 4 points, £80 fine plus court costs of about £40!! The bastards. All because I paid £20 to send off and get a clean licence!
  23. Here you go Roy, I'm suprised you haven't read this already ;) http://www.gayhealth.com/iowa-robot/network/ask/?record=478 Or is it one of these? http://www.hernia.org/masktoofar.gif LMFAO! :D Seriously though, hope all goes well mate.
  24. Cool, didn't realise Z Centre did one, but then I've never had a manual so probably didn't pay attention...
