  1. LOL no it's worse than that. Mr Mac, Are you referring to the fact that the filters are open to the rain and shite? :( They will tilt up quite a bit but not all the way.
  2. I was told that a Blitz wouldn't fit so I ordered 2 Apexi's. Tried the Blitz tonight and it WILL fit. I got Macca a Doolz too so he might have it to go with his other Blitz.
  3. I got the Skyline R34 calipers, disks and pads for £500. They just bolt straight on with no messing. I just put a post in the wanted section of gtr.co.uk
  4. It's a dummy twin MAF... LOL Z1 Motorsport supply it with a duff MAF to use as a dummy. I'll be using just my original MAF with a new chip.
  5. Installed it to check clearance when mounting the new oil cooler before anyone points out the engine is missing! I think it looks cool as... :D Not bad pics for a phone either!
  6. I was particularly impressed with the service 2 months ago. My brother came to visit me in Leeds but left to return to Edinburgh with my spare house key and only shed key in his pocket. He put it in the post the next morning and it took 2.5 weeks to be delivered! Luckily I got him to send them to my parents address in case someone noticed it was keys and tried to use them but I gave up after a week and got another set cut! I should have claimed the £12 back it cost me
  7. Try Jaylox for a carbon one :D  :x:

Try some Autoglym Bumper Care on it first. Worked wonders on mine.
  9. How much is the brake seal kit? Mine has been stood empty for almost a year and I was wondering if the seals might go. They obviously do.
  10. You'll need a 2 or 3 leg puller tool from Halfords or most other car tool shops ;) Cost about 10 to 20 squids
  11. No it's not the clutch, it's the rubber prop shaft twisting ;)
  12. That makes 2 of us :D I've removed loads of junk from my engine and it's been a year since I saw where eveything went. Anyone fancy touring the UK with a working Z? ;)
  13. I once had a Rover company car and I had to get it booked in for a service and MOT at the main dealer. The dealer called me back a few days later and said they would have to put the job back a couple of weeks as they were too busy. I needed the MOT done urgently for my tax etc so I rang them and said I didn't want an MOT anymore, just the service. Took the car to my local MOT station and it passed no problem as it was it's first time at 3 years old. When the car was in for a service 2 weeks later at the main dealer I arrived back at the office to find my boss fuming. The dealer had called my boss to say it failed the MOT because it needed new pads, disks, shocks and new suspension bushes all round! Unfortunately my boss gave the go ahead to £1300 worth of work! They obviously never cancelled the MOT as I'd requested a few weeks earlier and did it anyway! I had an interesting discussion with them on how it had already been passed by another garage and why they were taking the piss because it was a company car and we would just pay the bill. They refunded half the cost in the end but it still never needed doing in the first place. Tossers!
  14. That's quite handy, a guy down the road has a red skip in his garden :D ;)
  15. I was only on the phone at lunch time to Macca when I mentioned this. There's loads of stunning birds out in the sun in Leeds today :D Don't you just love tits!
  16. I had a few problems with NTL when it was first installed a couple of years ago but it's been fine since. They came and replaced my set-top box 5 times before the TV and broadband problems went away. My only complaint now is that there's no support on their TV or broadband services in the evenings or weekends which is exactly when most people use it! I once had my TV go off on a friday evening, had no cable TV or internet until monday morning when I could report the fault. They did fix it within a few minutes though. I do find their service a lot faster than normal BT based broadband and they have even upped the speed to 600K as standard for the price you would pay for 512K on most other providers - £24.99 I think? I was on the 1MB service until this month when they upped it to £38 a month and I'm not using it as much as I was :( If you go for 1MB you get a phone package worth £18 per month that gives you unlimited evening and weekend calls as long as you hang up after an hour and redial. Might be worth doing if you use the phone a lot. I'd ditch AOL and use NTL. The reason people moan about AOL is that it installs loads of shite on your PC to access their services and a few years ago it didn't use Microsoft Internet Explorer and loads of sites wouldn't work. Install any apps that expect IE and your PC would often be trashed! I think it's better these days but anyone in I.T will not have forgotten and will hate it with a vengeance! :mac1:
  17. When you refilled with oil, did you pour it in via the balance bar holes? :D Use the oil filler like everyone else
  18. The oil has to have come from the turbos - can't think of any other way it can get in there. Don't know what work you've done to the engine so could the oil have been in the plenum previously and have run to one side to clog the valve when you were putting it back together? Clean the plenum out if you can...
  19. I've got loads of tools but can't find a set of small hands anywhere. Where did you buy yours? Those small pipes are only a few quid so replace 'em while you're there.
  20. There's the metal ones that link the rubber PCV hoses round the back of the engine. Also the exits from the plenum to the PCV valves could have got something blocking them - Dropped any screws in it? ;)
  21. Yes it's the water pump alright. I think they are about £70 or something from Nissan and should be replaced at about 60K miles. Try Mike at MJP for one. Not fitted one myself but sounds like you've done most of the hard work already.
  22. Try a local motor spares/trade type shop. They should have some vacuum hose in that size. You might even find something similar in a pet shop aquarium. Halfords etc just keep the common fuel and water type hose.
  23. Sounds like PCV's to me too. Have you changed ALL the PCV hoses and cleaned out the metal lines? They can get very clogged up.
  24. Just finishing the manual conversion and the alternator harnesses on auto and manual Z's are different. I've got both harnesses but the large connector block on the auto one has 6 pins and on the manual has 8 pins that go to a few more plugs on the end of the harness. I've been told I need to swap the connectors but surely I've not got enough wires on the car side to join it to? Anyone know of a wiring guide on doing this?
  25. After most of the pipes have been replaced and the engine has stood empty for months there's going to be LOTS of air in these systems. How do I go about refilling things? Are the turbos and heads going to get oil/water quickly enough? How does the HICAS/power steering refill after a complete strip down? How good are the oil/water pumps at getting air out of the system?
