  1. Just added that to my shopping list :D £425 ish + Tax though  Where's best to get one of these installed? a transmission specialist? Sounds like it's not something you can do at home...
  2. I'm pretty sure you can buy a brand new diff if you felt the need - I don't know of any parts that are not available anymore. Then there's the option of repairing yours, replacing with a performance diff or parts, or just getting a used one from a scrapper! Nissan Mainstealers should be shot! :xxx:
  3. Is that how Google works? :D Is there a building full of Googlers typing away in the background? So what is the top speed with one of these diffs? (again why work it out when someone else can do it for you!)
  4. Nobody uses search! :x:
  5. Sounds good :D Any links for that gear Mike?
  6. Thats a Navan shifter I think. Courtesy Nissan used to sell them.
  7. Does anyone know the maximum power an N/A diff can take? Also are there any figures for improvement in 0-60 times etc? Is it a straight swap or are other bits required?
  8. The differential is the small gearbox at the back of the car that joins the prop shaft to drive the wheels... It's obviously badly worn but could just need a new bearing. Not exactly a minor job but shouldn't be too costly. Probably easier to buy a second hand diff from AndyZ in the traders section and get it fitted.

I asked my ex to pack up 3 items I'd sold on eBay and wrote out what was to be sent where. She managed so send them all to the wrong people, causing loads of agro and me having to pay return postage both ways and wiping out all the money I'd made :wack:
  10. Hi matey! Welcome to the mad house
  11. :( Sad day. I used to love watching the 2 Ronnies every week as a kid and they're still funny now. Open All Hours and Porridge are all time classics.
  12. Is that why you were dancing about until 8am? I thought you were enjoying yourself :duffer:  Seriously mate, good luck. I had back problems for quite a few years and luckily its not come back for quite a while. Hope it goes well :) Chris.

You might as well go clean your dog while you're at it for all the use that will do! There is NOTHING wrong with your cat so leave it alone! :headvswal LOL The engine is running badly and either running dangerously hot or sending unburnt fuel into the cats which is why the warning light is coming on... There are 2 cats side by side - notice you have 2 exhausts at the back ;) A good service is probably all you need :)
  14. Plugged the O2 sensors into the wrong connectors? Someone did this recently I think with very odd results...
  15. If the AFM was disconnected then it would run but only up to a rev limit of 2000rpm so its not going to be that. Either a bad or wrongly connected TPS or CAS sensor? Not heard of this sort of problem before so most likely something plugged back in wrong?
  16. OK I'll post it to Craigy boy tomorrow if I haven't had a call from a certain garage by tonight...

Jeez! The cat overheat light means there's something wrong?! Just removing your cat ain't going to fix it. Usually caused by misfiring etc so there's unburnt fuel getting into the exhaust or it's running very lean which could cause engine damage. Cars before 1992 (I think?) do not need a cat. After that date, if you've removed them then it's an MOT fail.
  18. Give me a bell when you're free mate :(
  19. Got my pass thanks mate, but not looking like I'm going to be there so I might post it on to someone else. I'll let you know tonight as the shit has finally hit the fan :x:
  20. That's the Stillen GTZ-R II front bumper. Someone has a black one on this forum...
  21. Think I said the same as Danny! Took me ages to write it as I was on the phone LOL
  22. You might be lucky and it's just overheated but if it's got so hot it cut out then it could have damaged something. Get the pipe replaced (couple of quid) and fill the system and hope it runs OK. The PTU could have got hot and caused it to cut out (common failure point anyway) Nissan dealers don't have a clue as it's years since they worked on these cars and will rip you off beyond belief. If they tell you there's something major wrong then go to one of the specialists in the traders section here - you'll save a fortune. The gurgling noise you heard might be the AIV system in the wings that's full of water - common problem after years of condensation but doesn't do any harm. Do a search on here for gurgling AIV's and you will find how to drain them or remove them if you fit a de-cat exhaust.
  23. Wouldn't mind a go at this :D http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4307538.stm
  24. Is your PC shutting down OK? The icon positions are only saved when it shuts down - if it crashes before this point then it's reset when you switch on. Could also be a problem with your user profile...
  25. That's why you can edit your post... ;)
