  1. hope someone can help Now then ive fitted a tv to the wall and chased the wall to hide all the cables making sure i had all the connections sticking out of the wall a few feet away and easily accessible Good idea i hear you say.... Well so i though but apparently the 3 hdmi cables i have used are version 1.3 Whats the problem there your asking?? Well shucks it seems that the yamaha amp i have communicates two ways through the hdmi cable allowing audio return channel through the hdmi doing away with the need For separate spdif cable, also it encoparates "arc" between tv and amp that allowes 1 remote to control both ect again through The single hdmi cable. So whats the problem... Well to get the show to work it requires 1.4 hdmi not 1.3 that ive used So the question is how do i get the 1.3 to convert to 1.4 without* Ripping the hdmi through the wall as there stuck in for good Both have 19 wires inside ive googled a converter but no luck Any help guys much appreceated
  2. That plug that you see unplugged is the boost solenoid, looks like it has a boost controller added to it
  3. Im also looking to do my garage floor im between the epoxy and tile finish, I was going to go for a gel backed carpet but my friend who is a fireman warned against that as you can have spills like petrol ect that soaks into the carpet, one spark and your away
  4. Ladies & Gents, As im only a fair weather Zedder, by that I mean my zed is only taxed 6months of the year, and I only take it out on sunny weekends, its fair to say that im not on here very often, Before I bought my other toys it was my daily drive and I was on here very often, It is with great pleasure that I would like to say thank you to all on the forum for keeping my zed alive from all the invaluable help here, without this forum I would surely be zeddless So may I take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry xmas and a very happy new year, maybe see some of you at some meetings kind regards Dewi
  5. Im here in Caernarfon, at the foot of Snowdonia with the awesome pass road :)

  7. do a search on my name fastredz I have done the valve stem seals with the heads in situ I did a write up I think it wasn't too bad but had to make some custom tools, but after I did them I found it still smoked turned out to be rings
  8. ive upgraded to the new style ptu incase of this failure, have you also changed anything on your ecu as when you tighten the plug back in you can overtighten and bent the plug, faling these it could well be a broken wire somewhere
  9. Wow impressive work, whats the fibreglass like to work with? are you stil able to get your roof in there matey?
  10. As per title, looking for a front drivers side ABS wheel sensor if anyone is breaking a zed thanks
  11. Gents after standing for two years had the zed out for a spin today was great to be back in the hot seat, a few niggles though... at first was running really poor, ok so I thought poor and old petrol so filled up with shell optimax, still running very poorly then realised my error, I had bought new tyres for the rear with a larger profile so this was making the racelogic traction thinking the wheels were slipping as I hadn't reprogrammed the racelogic for the new tyre sizes. so switched of the traction and it ran great, but then I noticed that the antilock light was up!!! hmm im thinking that as ive switched the traction off, it has that put the wheel abs sensors in open circuit and brought up the error in the antilock brake system? or is there genuinely something wrong with my abs?
  12. Gents very sorry, wrong section could admin please remove this should have gone into non zed discussion regards
  13. Mine is the uk spec and had rotted through all the sills, new sills fitted ten years ago but again a couple of years ago the rust came through, now I want to get this sorted so be intrested to hear what others may have used.
  14. Maybe not a good idea to do the front tension arm, this has been known to fracture the wishbone, have a search here matey
  15. Gents, I've done a few searches but cant quite get the right answer so here goes, Now as we know the underneath of our zeds rot like nothing else, so a couple of years ago I cleaned under the zed, repaired all the rust and coated all the underside with a product called aquasteel that promised to keep rust away http://www.aquasteel.co.uk/ also used stonechip on everything including the subframe and then waxoil. now the zed has been stored in the garage for two years and not seen any rain, it had an mot lastweek and I was surprised to see that all the underside rear subframe and rear area was all a nice rust colour, the guy in the mot station said it was condensation in your garage as I had a leaking roof. question is... is this aquasteel anygood if this is the affect after condensation? ive also seen a product called por15 http://www.por15.com/ would I be better using this with stonechip and underseal? I really don't want the underside to rust again so thought what would be best to use?
  16. Hope you get this sorted matey I have the same thing, someone will be along shortly to advise im sure :)
  17. Im at work in an underground hydro electric power station, graveyard shift finish at 8am so I can go home :)
  18. I'm not sure how much you want to spend matey but I've bought a vw t5 panel van done it up and will be looking to sell it in the summer, great project loved it easy to work with and the prices they go for after is well worth the effort you put in http://www.vwt4forum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=309368
  19. how about working with a thatcham toad ai606 alarm I realise I would have to use the fob to unarm first, but would it still work then, also I have a turbo timer fitted, any issues there?
  20. Glad you got it sorted matey, As I ve said countless times before without this forum my zed would be long gone by now, but the advice and technical knowledge on here is second to none and has kept my zed in its best condition since I bought it many years ago, Can i add that i was helped greatly with other issues not relating to the zed, other long standing zed members will remember, and again the 300zx forum came through, a fantastic forum with great members an asset to the 300zx community :w00t:
  21. I had my zed all done bodywork perfect and new engine that cost 5k driving somewhere behind a slow car I booted the throttle auto kickdown whoosh I was in the hedge before I knew it  funny thing was I wanted to get a traction system a few months before but as it was quite expensive I...... not as expensive as reparing my zed.... now in retrospect I think if the traction kicked in it would have saved my zed..... im not the best driver but I was aware of the kickdown on the auto but this cought me out I do like the racelogic that I have now fitted, its also customisable with the digital adjuster I have if I want a bit more leash to play if you like or I can just leave it on standard setting, this also apparently saves tyre wear when you boot it off the line... personally I think it s one of the best mods for the zed but that's just me
  22. DOH!! yep sorry 2+2 tt. A bit off topic but when I bought the zed I was the second owner, and the guy didn't like leather seats so he orderd the zed without leather seats  which is a real shame as I thought the leather was standard in uk spec tt.
  23. aww damn that's a shame, is it only for uk registered cars then? as mine is uk spec, but then uk only had the 2+2 auto and this site lists a few more than that?
  24. http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/ saw this on the Porsche forum not sure how accurate it is but gives you an idea what is taxed or sorn and how rare our 300s actually are
