  17. I buy part worns for my bmw 5 series the tyres are goodyear runflats 18" 245/40/18 and at £220 a tyre not cheap now the problem i have is the tyre wear in the bmw they always wear on the inside, i have bought a set of four new tyres and when i found 4mm of tread left in them with the insides worn through to the canvas i thought im not wasting money like this again, i spoke to the tyre depot and also bmw themselves and they said its normal to wear on the insides i really didnt think this would happen on a 2009 bmw, anyway the part worns i have bought have 7mm tread in them and about £80 to £100 each all inspected and tested even my tyre depot will inspect them before fitting them yes its true i have no idea about the history of the tyre but they are inspected and tested before i have them fitted i honestly dont see the poing in shelling out big money for tyres that will not last there full life, i'e wear down evenly to say 2mm yes there are many tyres on ebay used and part worn from individual sellers that have not been tested and as above not road worthy, if going down the part worn route then i would find a good dealer that sells them inspected and tested its a very valid point from gonzo and you do get what you pay for and you have to remember that your tyres only have a 6" square foot print on the road you need to depend on them footprints at all speeds and braking this is only my 2p worth i use part worns but they are fully tested with about 7mm tread on them with no trouble at all
  18. Wow this is unbelievable really does bring things into perspective
