  1. the last two made me chuckle
  2. looking for a bit of advice, sorry this is long but theres a few innacuracies with the symptoms first off the dipstick seems to pop out at anything above 5k rpm but only on boost not when car is sat , when sat at idle i can rev all the way to 7k rpm no problem, second check was opening the oil filler to see if there was gas coming out and there is , not a lot though, but not all the time , if i give it a nice hard rev let it settle again there is no gas out of the oil filler, top end was rattly this morning sounding like stuck lifters , gave it a nice hard revving and the rattle goes away and so does the gas coming out of the oil filler. I first off was edging towards blocked pcv valves as i know they were, then i thought rings gone as the gas out of the oil filler, then with the rattly top end i thought either stuck lifter or vtc spring worn but wondered if the vtc spring was worn as well as stuck pcv valves would this be enough to pop out the dipstick on boost and give oil out of the filler but only some of the time......im puzzled on this one, it starts fine as always and im gonna get a compression check done but any ideas welcome
  3. this is the one for me
  4. yeah was back in plenty of time fella
  5. ok its a big one but how exactly does the pcv system work, the valves allow gasses through when theres vacuum in the intake , when the intake is pressurized the valve is closed so your bottom end of the engine isnt pressurized and the dipstick doesn't pop out, i cant see how these valves sticking open or closed would make the car smoke on idle as thats what the valves are supposed to bloody do isnt it ( let the crank gasses into the intake ), so what is the real cause of smoke on idle?
  6. 8th picture down on this link and the associated text above it, good to see you guys as well http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.337

  9. hat off to ya fella, you dont do em small do ya
  10. bought a set of billstein sports shocks and springs off ebay for £130 quid and got em fitted today , no drop as my standard shocks already had bilstein springs but the sports shocks makes the ride feel so much more positive now.
  11. fit the controller and get it chipped, remove centre silencer if its the standard exhaust will help things as well
  12. i had mine off but believe me at high speed the rear end deffinitely felt loose so i put it back on even though the smooth rear was more to my personal taste, i will remove the spoiler again though when i have a functional rear diffuser and maybe fit a small lip spoiler
  13. do it fella, even if it isnt what you want it could be a stepping stone to what you want and where, having said that i hated the year and a half i spent in london but thats mainly cause i was in a hotel 5 days a week
  14. yeah the gtr went past it
  15. there is also a spring at the front to keep the sprockets seated when there isnt any oil pressure moving them, this can weaken and cause noise from the cam area over time as well
  16. Iaa is at the back of the engine on the plenum , passenger side has a yellow connector on top look behind the balance bar and you will find it warm up the intake pipes for ease of removal, if its the original black ones beware of splitting the end of the pipes as they go brittle there
  17. just looked up the specs on em and he should of mullered me they are bloody rockets, he must of been a crap driver
  18. oh it was the aero 8 as well
  19. nice little road kill, on the way home there was a brand new morgan in front of me driving all racerish on the single carriage "A" road from st erth to penzance, doing the old swerving from left to right thing to keep his tyres warm as the car in front was too slow for him, I knew when he got to the roundabout and got onto the dual carriageway he was gonna nail it , he did, so did I , off the roundabout onto the dual carriageway I went past ,nailing it up the road, after about 7 secs he just gave up as I was pulling away too rapidly for him to even compete, best thing was he was solo in his and the missus was sat in mine grabbing on for dear life:rofl:, nice heavy Z with two up killing a nice light morgan one up.....there are days i truly love this car
  20. congrats, glad your back running
