  1. Hi mike, think iv seen you cruising about in the summer ( I work in Canterbury), has it got the high level rear spoiler & ally centre console panel?? sorry, dont want to buy it, just being nosey! :)
  2. I didnt say "who wants to do that" about having another job, I said "who wants to HAVE to do that" big difference imo.
  3. its the recirc valves (standard "dump valves") that go weak iirc
  4. lol, another case of the dreaded "goose honk" !
  5. wow, this is really spooky: Ive have not been to any volcanic region & was once not close to death when i wasnt anywhere near an inactive volcano which didnt erupt. :D

Yea, well, till the auto box goes tits up again & again eh?? (here we go again :D ) contact smiffy. got my RPS kit from him, it'll handle an extra 30% over a stock clutch. depends how much he expects to get out of his engine!
  9. how dare you talk to the evil one!! lol!! :D (joking!! :D )
  10. look here for costs of the bushes.
  11. thats exactly my point!!! if its so easy & there not worth the money - there wont be a problem will there?!?! im sure the green godess crews can handle it, eh!!?? I tell you what id think if i was in that situation: I wish they got paid that fcuking 40% they wanted strike action is always a last resort, im sure they dont all WANT to do what they are doing. but at some point youve got to take action if you want people to listen. that certainly seems to have happened, think we all have to agree on that ;)
  12. not looked at the wiring diagram or anything, but if the lights not coming on on the switch, it would seem to suggest a fault in the supply voltage to the switch, or the switch itself. like i said, not checked the diagrams, so check to confirm.
  13. hmmmmmmm, for those of you that think its unreasonable for them to withdraw their services & put lives at risk, that they are unreasonable for ask such a large pay rise..................................how much would you think they would be worth if you was trapped in a burning building, or need cutting out of your car after a multiple car pile up? a lot more than there getting now, im sure. so what if there are 1000's of people wanting to join - does that mean that they are worth less cos we can replace them with unskilled people wanting to join?? it IS unlikely that they will get the full amount anyway, so maybe they get 25%, is that really unreasonable in a job that is obviously VERY underpaid? so what their shifts allow them to do another job out of work hours - who wants to HAVE to do that anyway?????????? GOOD LUCK MARK! I really hope you all get what you deserve. decent pay.
  14. group hug!!! I cant believe this topics caused so much agro. I mean it isnt even about gearbox's!!!!! :D

  16. 9.5 psi standard iirc - 7 psi is safety boost
  17. good luck mark! :) hope you get a good result out of this. youve got my support (fwiw  ) you guys deserve a decent pay rise.
  18. im sure the guys at the insurance factory said they dont care if its uk or import - all the same rate.
  19. gio - that site looks like its directly out of the testers guide, so yes it seems to be accurate. btw, im a mot tester. :D
  20. yup, HC = hydrocarbons (unburnt fuel) everyone ignore the 7.5% co2!!! its the 3.97% co which its failed on!! which is still high but not quite so crazy as 7.5% ! the first thing to check is the o2 sensors are working still & no faults in ecu. poss temp sensor if it thinks its too cold still.
  21. can anyone recommend a firewall for home use? I use the one in win XP pro but i gather this is very basic. or do you think its ok for home use?? cheerz :)
  22. ok, co must be below 3.5% - it is poss its been decatted. anyway, an avarage must be taken, so both sides must be tested then the results added together then halved. CO2 is NOT part of the MOT!!
  23. shit - scrap that just seen its 7.5% you posted - too high to pass a non cat test anyway :o sorry!! it IS CO the're looking at & NOT CO2, isnt it??????????????
  24. couple of points: 1, CO2 (carbon dioxide) is not part of any mot test - its CO (carbon monoxide) - picky bit out of the way. 2, the 300zx is not in the database of my gas analyzer at work, nor is it in the emissions book provided by the ministry, meaning that you do a NON cat test. what have they tested the car as?? cos unless its a 95 car onwards (default cat test) you must have an EXACT match in the database to test it against. you can check the o2 sensors are working by going into mode 2 of the ecu diagnostic mode. hth
  25. sorry - you need to replace the arm - about £50+vat iirc
