You can do an engine diag without getting to the ecu fwiw. theres 2 pins to short out on the diag link in the drivers footwell. read out on the engine warning lamp.

just a bit of info: i had high idle speed, esp from cold. done the usual. ie cleaned tb's & idle valve, reset ecu checked tps - within spec checked temp sensor & cleaned contacts - still the same. when i pulled the boot off the back of the temp sensor connector, the rear of the terminals were corroded, though looking at the terminals in the plug end (where they connect) they seemed to be ok. checked the resistance through the wiring & it was waaaaaaaay too high! cut the connector off & crimped a couple of new connectors on & all seems ok now :)

cant remember the exact fuse no, but its in the fuse box in the drivers footwell.

its hard to say without seeing it but- moisture in the oil can cause a small amount of emulsion on the filler cap & is not always cause for concern. again, water can build up in the exhaust & run out esp when cold. tho if its actually shooting jets out i would be concerned! :eek: how does the water level look, is there oily residue in the coolant? does coolant gush out with the engine running & cap off? does it misfire at all or lumpy tickover? it is a fairly costly & labour intensive job to do. oil pressure gauge is *probably* just a sender unit. get it professionally checked before buying if you have concerns about it is my advice :)

I got the same clutch as well, had no problems fitting and was a very nice bite from the start. (tho i fitted a new flywheel at the same time) you're not producing extremely high bhp are you? just a thought. if the bite point is very low then it doesnt sound like an adjustment problem. if the flywheel was badly worn then it wouldnt help. the friction material is quite hard on the RPS so i would have thought it may take a bit longer to bed in if it is uneven, is it getting better or worse?? if they have contaminated the plate with grease then they want shooting! :mad: but to be honest they would have had to put quite a bit on & not just a little from their grubby mits to be that bad. just 1 other thought - they *have* actually replaced the clutch & not just adjusted the pedal in hope that it would cure it?!?! does it look like the box has been out??

R134a is the latest gas in the latest cars, R413 is a replacement for R12. i have both at work. better still, convert to R134a, I have kits at work to do this. then you can use R134a at any time in the future (which is a cheaper, more readily available gas) let me know if you want any more info.

i fitted 6x9's in my doors. i cut & rewelded the origional brackets to take them, tho you could make an MDF bracket to take them. also the door cards will obviously need cutting. its not too bad a job, just needs a little time & patience.

if thats the case then its a very poor design. as the oil gets hotter, the pressure will drop due to the oil being thinner. so the oil cooler will be mostly used when the engine is cold!! hmmm i suppose they wanted the flow through the cooler at higher engine speeds, but a thermostat is much better than a pressure spring for an oil cooler. i know the mercs have a thermostat. it will allow the oil to get up to operating temp quicker - which is what you want in an engine.

if its already slipping it may help by adjusting but youre only prolonging the inevitable! :( youre gonna need a new clutch.

the hissing noise sounds like the clutch servo is leaking air. could also be related to the boost gauge problems as for the battery light, yes it sounds like the alternator is on its way out. check with a voltmeter across the battery with the engine running, should be around 14v speedo could be a speed sensor or kph to mph convertor if its got one fitted.
