help! oil!
Dont bother trying to clean them, just replace them. theres one either side towards the rear of the inlet manifold you'll probably need the hoses too as these go hard with age & its easier to cut them off. seems to have sorted my high idle problem

Yet ANOTHER safety boost Q...
well if youve got code 55, all clear, then i doubt that the resistor will do anything anyway - its only of use if the det sensor is faulty. have you checked all of hoses for any boost leak?? maybe check the engine temp sensor, just in case the ecu thinks its too cold all the time to give full boost

How much for a Z32?
Russ - you WILL get a better car on here than if you buy from a dodgy forecourt from a trader that knows nowt about zeds!! you say you want a nice clean one thats been looked after, but you dont want to pay for that privilidge!?! doesnt add up really does it  if you want the best, you need to spend a little more. :) many of the cars on here go for sensible money anyway IMO

Rear Ball Joint (rear wheel steer)...help!
ahhhh, so thats why you said it was a git James!! yes, a little confusion here - in that previous thread i was reffering to the Hicas link arm - the part that actually screws into the Hicas rack! it seems Dave (and you) are talking about the bush/ball joint that is pressed into the hub!! I would guess its a hub off & press out job. not actually done this job myself tho

Message for Paul C
hi Mark i have conversion kits - they cost £25+vat (cost price to me) & consist of 2 new connectors & tubes of oil that actually change the oil thats used for R12 at the molecular level to be compatible with R134a the only problem i can see (on zeds) is that where they fit one of the service valves is quite tight & the connectors on R134a service equipment is a bit bulky. on top of this you will need R134a gas (we charge £50/kg) + fitting. HTH :)

oil filter and oil pressure gauge

PCV valves
done mine on sat. the o/s one is easy to get to once youve got the bracket out of the way with a couple of electrical connectors attached to it. hth

Loose rear end

Another stupid O2 sensor question
Most onboard diagnostics rely on the ecu recieving a voltage that is of a certain specification. outside of these figures & it flags a fault up as it must be high resistance or open/short circuit. so if its only playing up intermittantly it will still regester a fault.

Odd internal noise! (Z not me!)
erm, WTF are tyrefly's???

help me!!!!!!!!!!!!
see my reply in a previous post RE MOT emmisions test. but, yes they are related. HC is unburnt fuel, any misfire will cause poor combustion & high HC levels. check & clean all the connectors you can find in the engine bay!!, well mainly PTU, CAS, Coils, TPS, engine temp sensor. :) check the plugs/filters have been done & pray its not your valves not seating ;)
