*cough* bullshit *cough* :slap: LATE mercs with the electronic gearbox will pull away in 2nd if W(inter) mode is selected, otherwise all merc boxes pull away in 1st, which i would have thought the zed would do! ;)

the PTU is the Power Transistor Unit, AKA an ignition module/amplifier. they are a common fault on older zeds, located on the front of the drivers side cam belt cover. 1st check & clean the connectors, otherwise it could be a broken connector inside, it is possible to repair by cutting the unit open & soldering - but i only done it as a tempary measure till my new one got here from Courtesy. probably would still be working now tho! ;) easy to swap, so might be worth seeing if someone local can oblige :)

why do they always break then :slap: when was the last time you saw a post about a manual gearbox failure?? the clutches wear out & are cheap & easy to replace! how much is a autobox rebuild again?? :p

they break into tiny pieces unless you fit a big oil cooler & even then they might break unless you have the fast road box upgrade & even then they might break unless you convert to a manual!! :p

isnt that the infiniti version of the 350Z? :confused:

I know johnboy has had both & he said the manual is deffo faster ;)
