    not recommended tho
  4. MJP in the traders section
  5. thats the problem! get some wizzzzzzie things!!   oh, & a manual box!! :D
  6. i strongly (note the bold text!) disagree on this statement! iv got a RPS street clutch from the smithmeister & it was a lot lighter than my old knackered stock one!! remember the Z has a servo assisted clutch. very good feel from this clutch IMO
  7. anything made by King Dick! :D (old make of spanners)
  8. OK - a great description, but a little inaccurate! Mig tips/boost jets do NOT create any boost leak, they are not bleed valves! they work by creating a restiction in the pipe back to the wastegate, boost contollers do this also (admittidly more efficiently).
  9. Or just connect it before the AFM.
  10. could be either. the starter has a drive inside which makes the same noise as when its chewing teeth off of your flywheel :( id remove the starter & inspect the ring gear first, if all's ok then replace your starter. mine done the same & it turned out to be the starter, but id check 1st cos sods law says if you buy a starter it'll be your ring gear!
  11. 1, they look great 2, they go like sh!t off a shovel 3, erm, nope thats it really! :D of course there not gonna be cheap to run, its a twin turbod supercar  drinks petrol like barney from the simpsons drinks duff beer (or like duffer drinks stella :duffer: ), gonna make you cry if anything major goes wrong & will cost all your pocket money when you start modding it. but thats why there fun ;) you want cheap - buy a micra! oh, BTW, deffo stick with the manual gearbox, autos are for :xxx: (thats what they do with their left hand you know!! :D )
  12. LMAO!! :D has he actually got it working yet tho??
  13. nice one Mark - I was starting to wonder if you'd ever finish it!!! :D
  14. ooh you lucky bugger! my fave place in the world :) hoping to get back out there myself later in the year. dunno about the zed shop, never saw 1 (zed) either time i was there. have fun, give my regards to Mickey :D
  15. boost jets go inside the pipes to the wastegate & act as restrictors, boost valves (or bleed valves) "T" off of the wastegate lines & vent some of the pressure to atmosphere.
  16. pretty much the same with most things on a car ;) absolutly fine if you DO do things properly :) mines been running up to 16psi for about 18 months now
  17. turbos = very good silencers!!
  18. LOL!! missed this discussion!! cooling fans are mostly required at low speed, where airflow is too slow over the rad to cool (when an electric fan would be better), & at high engine speeds, where the airflow over the radiator may not be sufficient. the water flow through the rad is top to bottom, not because of the pump, but because the hot water entering the rad is cooled down. colder = denser so down it travels. the pump is there to assist the water flow around the engine.
  19. if anyones interested! http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/index.asp
  20. well the manual says with a manual gearbox the engine & box can be pulled together, but with an auto you have to remove the box 1st. if the rear main seal is leaking then get it done while the engine is out!! too cheap & easy not to do it TBH.
  21. Tupperware :D :D
  22. IMO - yuk!! really doesnt suit the zed. (IMO only)

the clutch has a servo much the same as the brakes. check to see if theres a loose/split pipe going to it, otherwise it may be a faulty servo
  24. the cam bearings are bored inline with the cyl head & swapping over is not recommended, you may be able to get a good engineering company to repair it though.
  25. iv got a similar set up, got a timed 4.8 secs 0-60 :)
