  1. its my theory that in good conditions RWD is best, 4WD is only really a benifit in wet/slippery conditions 1 - a 4WD system saps more power 2 - under hard acceleration weight is transferred to the rear of the vehicle (which is where our power goes down ;) ) how many 4WD top fuel drag cars do you see??
  2. HICAS link arms, about £50 each from Mike Feeney. ;)
  3. ok, 1 for MOT's see my write up in the FAQ section on emmission tests on zeds! 2 how on earth is it going to make a car run richer by decatting???? is more fuel going to be injected for a given amount of air without the cats then?? 3 LISTEN TO JOCK!!!! he has(had? ;) ) an N/A which he decatted - proof of the pudding & all that!
  4. aaaaaaaaarg, bhp is directly related to torque. on a dyno they measure torque which then gets converted to power by a calculation. Horsepower = torque x rpm / 5252 below 5252 rpm any engine's torque number will always be higher than its horsepower number, and above 5252 rpm any engine's horsepower number will always be higher than its torque number. At 5252 rpm the horsepower and torque numbers will be exactly the same. check it on some dyno sheets!! ;)
  5. sounds like the rear gearbox seal. quite easy to do. prop off, prise the old seal out & tap the new one in. i replaced mine when i had my box out to do the clutch. if its only a slight leak its not gonna cause too much problems, clean it off & see how much comes back.
  6. does it have reverse gear??? :D
  7. LOL !! but it didnt, did it!!!! the zed won
  8. ps, back pressure is bad ;)
  9. theres a lot of talk from people about the good old wifes tail of back pressure. the fact is a couple of people on here have decatted NA's & said it felt better. i would go for it :)

looks a bit more serious now - a compression check would be a good thing to test 1st, followed by a cylinder leakage test if that shows any faults up
  14. whats wrong with gearboxes then???? i was going to remove mine & polish the casings :D after that i may bolt some fins to it to smooth out airflow under the transmission tunnel!!!
  15. 1 check the adjustment on the clutch pedal 2 bleed the clutch again!! other than that - is there any special adjustments to do on the twin clutch plates??? shims or anything. sorry not familiar with them mark!

  21. Paul C replied to a post in a topic in General Discussions - 300ZX Related
as Andy suggests, PCV valves & hoses would be the 1st port of call, if it really is breathing that heavy then rings is a definate possibility :(
