  5. then it would fail on brake performance, not brake components ;)
  6. as long as you are getting value for money then fine. problem is an MOT will take upto 1 hour on average (if done properly), it has been suggested (;)) that some MOT stations that charge like £20 might try to rush the test to get more tests per hour, or worse still possibly fail items that dont warrent failing just to gain the additional work. for us MOTs are a loss as soon as they come in. at £75ph weve lost £35 straight away, thats without VOSA admin costs.
  7. its a customers, in for a service & MOT. any ideas on value??
  8. erm, i kinda like it!!
  9. got 1200 miles on it too!!
  10. have to disagree. a garage costs money to run. mechanics wages, cost of building, tools, equipment etc. they have to make the money from somewhere! cost is very important.
  11. got one in at work this week - sure is different!! cool doors
  12. no, because it has been suggested that cut price MOT's encourages poor test procedures. (not checking thoroughly, failing items to gain work etc) ;)
  13. pads have to be below 1.5mm. discs have to be excessivly worn/corroded to fail (in the testers opinion)
  14. £40.75 is the current price. IMO all garages should charge this price.
  15. no, it wont make any difference to the leak test. its all got to come off again anyway ;)
  16. ooh bargain, take £500 for cash??? :D

  22. erm, so if you had gaps between the cams & lifters then what would you have done?? LOL! cos it certainly wouldnt have given low compressions. in fact it would prevent it!! it would have rattled but thats about it!! ;)
  23. btw.................................what were you hoping to see??????
  24. LOL!! its no good just ripping off bits if you dont know what youre looking at!! did you get a cyl leakage test done?? if you insist on keep pulling bits off then next step is heads off. like i said, its prob valves not seating. but until you get a leak test done its just a guess ;)
