Speed Meter
to be even more pedantic, RR's dont measure RWBHP either, they measure torque and then calculate BHP from that ;) :D

LOL! if you mean coolant flow goes upwards in the rad then we've got a serious physics problem!! water flows down in a rad cos as the water enters the top of the rad, it is cooled. cool water is more dense thus the downward flow ;)

NA vs TT How expensive IS your car?
just cos theres more parts on a car doesnt mean they will go wrong does it?? its gonna be more down to maintenence than just having more/less parts fitted. whats gonna be more reliable, a well maintained TT or an abused N/A?? ;) (ps answer is my TT :D)

New easier way to take your car to the US !
LMFAO!! :D The sensation of flying at 400mph with no engine noise or vibration will make the journey through the tunnel a unique experience. On board each customer has the same amount of personal space as you get on a 1st Class flight on a Boeing 747, complete with reclining chairs, adjustable head rests, a personal mini plasma screen TV with 204 different channels to choose from. As the train is three times as wide as a normal train, passengers will have plenty of room to move around at their leisure. On board there are three restaurants, a gym, showers and changing rooms, a bookstore as well as a duty-free shop. In tests, people have reported that the "jet-lag" effect is dramatically reduced. Because passengers won't feel any forward momentum from the ATTS, it will seem as though they haven't moved. The best description came from one of engineers who said, "It's like a time machine. You embark in Swansea and then before you know it, you're in the US." The only indicator of the journey's progress will be a GPS-linked display on the ATTS's information TV channel.

MOT advice
not if its just slightly worn. reasons for failure (among others): a cut which causes the fibres to separate fluffing or fraying sufficient to obstruct correct operation of the belt or which has clearly weakened the webbing stiching badly frayed, not secure, incomplete or repaired also a retracting mechanism does not retract the webbing sufficiently to remove all the slack from the belt with the locking mechanism fastened and the seat unoccupied

Detonation at idle, your thoughts please
LOL!! perhaps youve blown the alternator then. have you tried disconnecting the alt belt ? you should never run an engine with the alternator disconnected cos it can blow the diode/recifier pack. you can prob butcher any old plug lead as long as it fits over the plug, then push the other end into the coil pack

F.A.O. Mat Lad
best see a doctor if he did!! :D

Detonation at idle, your thoughts please
EGR removal?? ;) i seriously doubt its the battery. as andy says, you sure its det? at that low revs it would have to be timing severly out. poss very poor fueling (low pressure??). was this with engine hot/cold?

Flywheel & pulley
anything that increases bhp MUST increase torque as there is a direct relationship between the 2. stirring the gearbox? i actually found the gearshifts nicer after fitting these & (in a manual of course) - you cant fit a lightened f/w in an auto!! :p
