Hi Graham, check the small fusebox in the boot - fuses 23 & 24 supply the pump if they are ok then check power/earth at the pump in the plug with the larger size wires pin 3 is ground, pin 2 comes from fuse 24 & pin 4 from fuse 23 - both permenant lives good luck & let me know how you get on! :)

Oh nooo! Mechanics please help :'(
a few tests are needed before jumping to conclusions: Oil pressure test with workshop gauge (in car one is crap & should be largely ignored LOL!) Compression test & cylinder leakage test Recheck cam timing Check inside intake hoses for any oil residue Consult check for codes & cylinder balance

central locking does not work from the key in the door anyway - its just an emergency manual locking/unlocking system I will dig out a wiring diagram when I can - Merc system is not working at the moment, Ill let you know once I can log in & take a look. If neither the remote or the button in the car is working then it sounds like a pump or wiring fault to the pump issue - maybe a fuse has blown if the pump failed

Hi Graham, pump is certainly the most common problem - often water gets in there through the rear lamp seals - any signs of water? Does the central locking work from the switch inside the car? No coding - you should just be able to swap the pumps over. resync the key - sit in the drivers seat, press the lock button on the key twice - put the key in the ignition & turn the ignition on then off - remove the key & press the lock button twice again. If its not been done then also replace the key batteries Let me know how this goes :)

HID Kit
I (and many others) have kits from here: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/ Our old trader Danny from DTA used these & they are top notch - more expensive than other brands but you wont find better! :)

anyone been to krakow, poland?
yup - its the nuts!! Went a few years back with the lads, was a blast!! The main square is packed with bars/clubs/restaurants so just head there. Found a gun club about an hour away - that was cool - got to shoot 9mm Glocks, rifles, shotguns, pistols, revolvers etc. Also went to Auschwitz - I found it haunting & depressing, the lads wanted to go but wasnt really my thing. Really was a great break!! Enjoy! :)

smoke during idle,
they tend to wear & not seal internally - even though they look ok. Mine done exactly the same years ago & visually looked fine. For the cost of them it is always worth just chucking them in as a first step job!

All clean!
bloody lovely!! :drool:

smoke during idle,
Probably worth replacing the PCV valves & hoses as the first step bud - the valves can wear & not seal or get gummed up and the hoses are usually brittle & break when you try to take them off. There are 5 hoses in all but 1 is a bit of a git - usually most people replace the 2 from the valves on the rear of the plenum & the 2 at the front of the plenum :)

using ipad to control lights
yea - and while your at it swap all your TV's, DVD players, audio equipment etc for old units without remotes too! I would also suggest getting rid of your electric kettle & going back to one that you put on your hob that needs removing manually. Ditch the central heating with controller for some coal fires while your at it too. Much better :lol:

My GTR track day at Silverstone
Well, just got back from my GTR experience at Silverstone bought for my birthday by my girlfriend. It was an awesome experience - first got to drive the 370Z around for 4 laps - was a time to try to learn the circuit. The instructor was a little underwhelming & was constantly getting me to back off (even though I wasnt going that fast LOL!) Next came the bad boy - the GTR :punk: Was bloody awesome & was a much more exciting experience (no s**t lol!) - a new instructor was in this car & he was the nuts!! Constantly pushing harder & harder - went hammering past a few Ferarris on the track & Astons :thumbup: At one point I was right on the tail of a Ferarri 430 going into a corner - I backed off to take him as I exited & the instructor was going "dont slow down, just go round him!! go go go!!!" flat out around the outside & he was gone! :thumbup1: Big thanks to that instructor who really made it a fantastic experience!! Then a hot lap as a passenger in a Renault Megane 250 thing - that was a laugh - he didnt stop the wheels spinning around the whole circuit I dont think. On to briefing afterwards & I got the second best result of our group - best was an American that was over here & just wanted to go to Silverstone - he has a GTR in the states that he races so was quite chuffed! Comments were funny too on the report LOL :lol:
