Paul C is right - but I can see how Clarkey might think it's different from other 4WS - like the ones which help old ladies park. Anyhow, only really wanted to post to commend Clarkey on the avatar. Lest we forget, and all that...
  3. I believe that if your engine is running and there's no one in it, you are deemed not to be in proper control of the vehicle and this is illegal. Also, IIRC it is only illegal to leave the scene of an accident if someone is injured but this isn't definitive - better check with the boys in blue. I would guess your best bet is to tell your insurance company about the reg of the other car and they will go after them like a rottweiler. In order to do this, you have to get an incident number from the police but I shouldn't think you'll get any problems from the double yellows. My guess is that they'll just note it, give you the incident number over the phone and forget it. Good luck - Gio
  4. At least Ispambard Kingdon Brunel is currently in the lead ;0 From her dulcet tones floating up the stairs, I think it is time I stopped wittering and got ready for instruction! (and headed off for a lobster thermidor aux crec=vettes done in the provencal manner with a fried egg on top and SPAM
  5. hahahahahaha spamspamspamspamspamspamspamloverlyspamwonderfulspamspamspamspam if I tell her that, do you realise quite how much trouble I will be in? :)
  6. Hey guys'n'gals, The boss and I can't decide what to do for dinner tonite. Can't be a*sed to cook. Don't fancy an Indian. Should we go to the local seafood bar? Or Italian restaurant in the local guesthouse? We're not going down the pub 'cos that's earmarked for our anniversary on Monday. This red wine is going down nicely so what do you think we should do to go with it? (Sadly the local chippy only works on Friday nights...) TIA Mr & Mrs Gio
  7. The short answer is that no, I am not aware of what they use. A slightly longer answer is that neither are they! Reason being that for any new UK car of any make, the dealer has a computer link directly to the DVLA so when a new car is registered for the first time, the dealer simply selects from the list that the system offers him. OTOH, if you are registering an import, this is done manually at the local DVLA offices. They can either select from a paper list (and the 300ZX at the top of the list is the earliest one i.e. the Z31 which explains why the DVLA figures are simply, wrong for how many Z32s there are). Or they type in whatever has been filled in on the paper work - so one might have 300 ZX TURBO SPORTS and another 300ZX TURBO SPORTS. Mine, eg, is Make: NISSAN Model/Type: 300 ZX 2+2 COUPE It would be interesting to hear from other UK models to see if they have exactly what AndrewG has or whether there is still more uncovered in this can of worms (mixing metaphors too badly so please don't tell Mike or Ajay). Is there a particular reason you are asking?
  8. I asked this question earlier this year so you probably won't get too many people rushing to repost. So here's the original post and what they said along with a few collated tables etc. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12564&highlight=chassis http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~webster/gio/dvlaend2000.html http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~webster/gio/chassisnos.html You can also check out http://www.300zx.org.uk for more info HTH - Gio
  9. Thanks guys, just fyi mine's an old one - 1990 which I guess is a Series 1? Devil - thanks, too. If I understood correctly, you have a different "thing" on the right (driver's) side than the other one (left / passenger)? Mine looks like a scoop (sorry scoops, nothing personal) dropping maybe a couple of inches below the "Engine Under Cover". But just on the right / driver side. Nothing on the left / passenger. Cheers - Gio
  10. Thanks, Ajay that's the cheapest h a l l u c i n a t e I've ever had! :) ;) :p

Hey darkman2, glad you feel at home here. :) Me and the missus felt right at home in sunny Montserrat so thanks for the welcome. Given the 20mph speed limit I was so impressed to find a Zed there. Probably not the right place to run a lowered Zed! Cheers - Gio
  12. An quick and easy get round would be to bung a cheapo ethernet card in to both PCs and network them together.

So probably worth getting it before going anywhere near, say, Kent?
  14. Why not see if we can do some form of joint deal with the ZClub? Must be worth asking. They've got over a thousand paying members and we've got...

    teapot alert hahahahahahaha :) :)
  16. I know it's dark right now but I could do with a picture of the underside of the front OEM bumper. It's the bit called the Engine Under Cover on page BF-6 (the body section of the manual) http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=bf&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=6&design=default&total=46 I need the picture from below looking up. Reason - I just had some respraying done and I don't think this bit has been put back properly. For example, there is what looks like some form of air-vent dangling down in front of the driver's side front whell but nothing matching it in front of the passenger's side front wheel. TIA - Gio
  17. Damn, beaten to it by a woman - and a pregnant one at that :) lol (ducks, leaves country, changes name)

Hey darkman2 - if you've got an auto on Montserrat, I'd seriously think about getting the extra cooler. IIRC a J spec Z has a smaller cooler for the autobox than UK spec. And Montserrat is hotter than UK! I found a link to this on AndyP's site http://www.300zx.org.uk - it was by aaronjb I think: http://www.mind-design.co.uk/atf_cooler.htm Andy (or anyone) - is this still the best way to get an extra cooler for the autobox or am I confused as usual  (edited cos the link got messed up - twice :( oops )

Hey, John, d'ya reckon this Lay Up Cover would work for when a car spends six months in, say, a workshop?
  20. Surely 225s all round? (for J-spec, that is)
  21. hahahahahahaha couldn't quite keep up with the fastest thing on the motorway yesterday - red Astramax diesel van with ladders and dangling bucket!
  22. With rust? :) (ducks and leaves country)
  23. Quick nurse, the screens - and warm up the emergency teapot :)
