  1. hehehe - Bigfoot ZX? lol - where's the photoshop brigade?
  2. Don't forget you can't really make a direct comparison between a Z and a ZX. With the 350, they've gone back to much more of a sports car (a la 240Z/260Z) rather than a GT like the ZX.
  3. Because all their life, they've been told that this is six inches!

"Boring Audi TT" hehehehe I knew Tiff was a good guy...
  5. Blimey (III) carry on like this and you'll get to superobergruppenmember before you've decided which car to buy :D
  6. and not back until the 29th Oct. He got me one for around £117 + VAT (from memory).
  7. Hence "russtick"? :D ROFL No you're not a freeloader IMHO - just a seeker after truth, young grasshopper. It's a difficult balance - much as we'd like this to be free, tanstaafl. Bandwidth's gotta be paid for, hosting etc etc. OOH, the more we make available free, the more people sign-up. OTOH, the less reason to sign-up as a paying member. OTGH, more people participating but not paying puts bandwidth costs up. Hey ho - I'm glad I'm not an administrator.

On the occasion of a state visit to the UK by Emperor Hirohito with a pic of him coming down the aircraft steps at Heathrow "A Nasty Nip In The Air" teehee semi-seriously, I too worked for a bunch of J-models (Seiko & Kawasaki) and Peter's right - they don't like Jap or even less Nip. Dunno why. It's not PC, just being polite to acknowledge other people's preferences. Limey used to be derogatory, so did Yank - now people are mostly used to it. But good 'old cockanee come to the rescue with Septic - not very nice. ;) And even tho there is a band called Niggaz with Attitude (so my youger generation advisers tell me) I would hesitate to go down Electric Avenue and shout "Nigger" © Dangerous Dave. Some people hate Taffy, I would hope Scotty is OK but would expect anyone to take offence at Sweaty. You can call your mates things you wouldn't dream of calling strangers - at least if you want to keep your teeth!
  9. Wotcher Alex - 3 bits of advice 1) http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_20.htm 2) join this forum 3) ditch the porker and get a Zed! Cheers - Gio
  10. I suspect you might get problems with vortices off the tailgate sucking exhaust into the cabin. I also suspect that the aerodynamics are so shot by taking the tops off that opening the tailgate would not have much of an effect.
  11. Yeh I know but surely nothing excuses the bloody Bee Gees?

Bunch of wusses - just keep rinsing the salt off and she'll be fine. I thought it was only fair-weather bikers (like me) who put things away for the winter ;)
  13. Sometimes I think governments are evil overlords and sometimes I think they are just stupid. For example, their latest wizard wheeze appears to be to use hedgehogs to teach kids to cross the roads safely. Aaaaargh. That's like using Kurt Cobain as a spokesthing for the Samaritans. Good Grief. And worse than that, the soundtrack is by those tight-trousered, big-teethed Aussie falsetto queens the Bee Gees. What better group to really engage with today's UK pre-teens. FFS. My life already. PPS please try not to drive over too many helpless animals - the slippery mess doesn't do anything for your roadholding. 14. No probs Timmy, couldn't agree with you more on this post (except one bit). Just 2 points for the discussion: a) as we all get used to the new home I hope it will get less quiet! There are some unmoderated forums and some moderated ones so with a spot of luck things will their own level in time. 2) Somone posted recently about letting non-members post in more of the forums. You and Mac1 are right when you say why should people who haven't paid get any benefit. OTOH how can we attract more members if we don't let people try before they buy? Not pretending to have any answers but I wouldn't have any problems if we wanted to open one or two more forums to non-payers in order to get a lot of traffic through and get more paying customers. It's a tough problem. Hey - TT Tim or whoever how about supplying a few stickers (small ones with the forum logo and http://www.300zx.co.uk) as freebies for people who do cough up for membership?.
  15. Any sports car which had its handling sorted by one Mr A Senna can't be all bad. The NSX got reviewed in (I think J Perf) last issue or the one before. £15k (from memory) was below where you would get anything with SH or no problems around the corner. Without wanting to be chauvinistic, IMO the ZX is a Euro style Grand Tourer and the NSX a Euro style mid-engined sports. I like both probably for the reason that Ferrari make 2+2 coupes as well as pure sports. If I had £15k to spend (hahahahaha) on a car I think I would probably get better value from £15k spent on a low mileage late model 300ZX than a tired NSX. But if I could afford an NSX (including the cost of running it) and didn't need boot / occasional rear seats, it could well be my fave. If only
  16. Yes, there are several threads about the temporary (?) absence of not just the service manual but also the other helpful links which used to be behind the Z in the top left of the site home page. Don't know when it will reappear. AndyP posted a getround here http://217.158.136.46/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13793 Otherwise why not post your request in Forum & Site Suggestions? I know others (even me ;) ) have requested the return of these links. But be patient, the long-suffering admin's on holiday for a week!
  17. a) Is it his mouth or his speling that puts 'em off? lol b) quite right - wouldn't be the same without Timmy :)
  18. Aaah, this explains Craig's post elsewhere. Sorry Tim, have to disagree with you there. The fights and the fallouts were the worst thing about the old forum. Sad, sick, pointless and very off-putting. In general I agree with Warren (Jeez, I never thought I'd ever say that ;) ) the foul-mouthed childishness got rid of more peeps and attracted more morons. Shame, really. Still, if people want to have a playpit on this form, I have no objection but please don't drag warped grievances, sick photographs and personal vendettas into the rest of it. Or if there is a large enough group of argumentative foul-mouthed fight-pickers, there are also plenty of free bulleting board services - why not start your own. Then we can come onto your board and whinge about how we don't like it.
  19. There I was ambling through Waitrose and they've got Hardy's Stamp of Australia at £3.99 (a fine wine which really opens up the sluices at both ends). This usually around a fiver. Better still, if you buy a case of 12, you only pay for 11. Bargain. Now rehearse the phrase "Darling, I had to buy all these cases - look at all the money I saved..." Cheers (hic) - Gio
  20. 1) Is Infiniti another Nissan brand then? So the G35 is basically a badged 350Z? 2) Also, lest we forget, the 350Z is NOT a 350ZX. Wot I mean is that the 350Z goes back to an earlier concept of Zs. A sports car rather than a Grand Tourer. Nothing wrong with either (I am old and lardy and consequently enjoy the GT-ness of my ZX - and also appreciate the sportier nature of you younger people and all the Zs) But I suspect it means that we may be driving the last of the line. Will Nissan ever again try to make a world class supercar?
  21. Couldn't see the parse URL thing anywhere but chucked in the url tags you suggested and ;) Ta - Gio PPS - ooh and look, somehow (??) the change has retro-fitted to all earlier posts.
  22. I thort that what was what you said, just seems a bit pointless. I mean why have a rides section if you can't put anything there? Or am I in Homermode? And also (oh vb guru) why doesn't the link in my sig work? Or are these things that the great guru craig will get round to some day....
  23. Clarkey - OK how do you get pics onto / off your rides section then? And the html index?
