  1. Why do you want a vampire slayer?
  2. Do they have to have engines in (he asks innocently)? (oh nononononono I wish I hadn't said that)
  3. I can tell this is going to have to go in Fight Club :)
  4. When did she join Abba, then? But just for you http://www.befuddle.co.uk/celebs/friel/annaf_drunk1.html Another Stella drinker :) (should be popular here, then)
  5. sorry mate, didn't mean to add to the confusion. H3, H3C refer to the fitment not the wattage. H3 is the standard UK fitment and H3C has got an extra prong on it. This means either soldering an extra connector to a UK bulb or finding a J spec bulb (if you have a J spec car). I would guess that you can get various wattages for both fitments - eg I can get 55W and 85W for my J spec. After speaking to Jeff, I would definitely check the voltage drop between your battery and the bulb itself - if you have got a claggy path for the current, then solve this before putting higher wattage bulbs in. 6. UK is H3, J Spec is H3C - more details here: http://217.158.136.46/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14441&perpage=15&pagenumber=2 HTH - Gio

I just did some searching and found what looks to be a very knowledgeable (and very long) article on additives. Mainly re engine rather than gearbox but hope it illuminates the debate. It also has stuff to say on synth vs other oils. It's here http://www.paterson5.freeserve.co.uk/oil%20additives.html I won't do a comprehensive cut and paste but just mention that the ingredient appears to be a suspension of Teflon. DuPont wanted to stop supplying it because it was worthless but got forced to continue to supply. Just a couple of quotes: Blimey, where's Nelson when you need him? Cheers - Gio
  11. Or, sorry, I should have said "choose to have a deeply fulfilling relationship with". On the occasion of ABBA singing Fernando on TOTP2 tonight, I thought it was time we had a pointless poll. It's even PC! 2 of each... ;)
  12. If it's a 1988, does this mean it is a Z31? Most of us here are Z32 (1990 - 1996 in US I think). But you never, know, there might well be someone here who knows something. Or you could try http://www.zclub.net which covers all Zs/ZXs and has a special section for Z31s. Good Luck - Gio

  14. Shame, this. I thought everyone on here knew we were on the road to this brand new forum. IIRC jaylox's forum was completed after our new forum started. Slinging jaylox into the search box gives a heap of stuff including Everyone is free to do what they want in this wide wonderful world of the internet so good luck to jaylox. But it is a shame that people can't see working together is usually better than splintering apart. For example, if the forum is supposed to be a glorified shop, why not just take space on craig's (our) forum in the traders section? Seems odd to me, all this...
  15. Hey Mike, I understand there is a spanking new forum which really has the best tech advice in the planet. Perhaps someone there knows the answer? ;)
  16. Nice one, dude - have a Carib for me :)

Why not keep the Zed and not throw wonga at it? You've still got a beautiful motor with more power than 99% of other cars on the road, still got the grin factor. But no added risks of blow-ups, time off road in bodyshop, empty wallet etc etc. And then when you're rolling in it, you've still got a Zed to start throwing money at it - and even better, you know all its recent history, bills etc. Much better than buying another one :) The absence of desire is nirvana. 19. http://www.textstream.co.uk/otpcwpoptextstream.htm http://www.lycos.co.uk/webguides/jumppage/eands.html But check out what you are signing up to before you do it! IIRC people who get these SMS messages also get a lot of "this SMS was sent to you by using the wonderful Carphone W" blah blah. But I think they're free :)
  20. For the throttle body clean, I found this on AndyP's site http://www.300zx.org.uk http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/tb/tb.html I think Jeff also said you have to clean the back side of the throttle butterfly valve as well. The point of this is to ensure that the airflow is nice and clean and doesn't confuse the ECU. After Jeff did mine, the low revs roughness disappeared completely and gave a lovely smooth pick up. Once done, you shouldn't have to do it for another 10 years! And I think opinion is that this one of the first steps to do to cure rough running problems just to eliminate it. (Given the 20mph limit, what about the police? Or did you have a go during their anniversary function at the Bitter End?)
  21. Watch out for the temperature - I think AndyP did some tests and 100W melted the plastic surround. I've heard that some people drill litte holes to aid airflow but this seems a little M Mouse to me. Jeff says he doesn't have any problems with 100W bulbs tho. Also watch out for the voltage drop (which might cause too much current, hence heat in the wiring loom). Mine's got a separate mini wiring doobry to connect the headlights to the battery and the original loom is only uses to trigger a dedicated relay. Hence lots of lovely volts at the bulb. Cheers - Gio
  22. Is this low speed roughness or throughout? If it's low speed, clean the throttle bodies. If it's throughout, hopefully there'll be a techy along in a minute! OK, I have to ask this - where on the island do you give it a blow out? Not much of the tarmac is smooth and almost none of it is straight! Cheers - Gio
  23. Then I guess you'd be fine getting them from Harry - they're the standard H3 (i.e. not the H3C which has the extra connector). Or if you want better lighting try http://www.powerbulbs.com
  24. And if you disagree with them, you can e-mail or text via http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/haveyoursay/ I just did :) (but try to keep it clean!) Cheers - Gio
