  1. So thats why my zed is so fast then, its not cos its red, its cos its about 8 stone lighter than everyone elses, thats working on the fact that your average zed driver weighs 16 stone.
  2. Pete, dont think it was me on the M6 today, as i spent most of today cleaning the garage out!!!
  3. Why, not found one big enough yet?????!!!!!  :D

  13. God pete this is bad news, let me know if theres anything i can do to help (and no im not donating my red front end to you no matter what you say!!!). Where did it happen? I heard there was a big smash bon the M69 today. Be glad your ok, and be doubly glad that you didnt have the preggo mrs with you. Metal can be mended.
  14. I loved the last fuel protest, as i was working in a petrol station at the time, and i guarantee that all the petrol stations that said they were out of fuel werent!!! I kept over 5,000 litres back for staff, friends and family, and the customers which i liked!! During that week or so i earned more in tips, backhanders and bribes than i did in wages!! It completly changed the working experience too, from being a mere monkey there to serve take the customers money, you became a god. I got great payback that week on all the people who used to come in and treat you like crap, just cos you were a mere till monkey in their eyes!! I also use to go driving around just for the sake of it just cos i could, and the roads were nice and empty, shame i only had a 1.2 nova at the time so i couldnt burn the stuff fast enough!! I would say bring on another fuel strike as ive still got contacts there, but i wouldnt put total petrol in the zed for free!!
  15. Ive got a snooper S1 (£99 jobie) and its not worth the plastic its made out of. Its in the glovebox at the moment, as i cleaned the glass and havent put it back yet, might leave it there. It has saved me once (i think)on a motorway a it beeped once so i slowed to 70 and there was a copper on the next bridge. Having said that it shafted me once as i went past a camera van and didnt blink, i got done for 39 in a 30!!! GGGRRRRR im getting a jammer now, dont care if theyre not legal, can get one through work for about £250ish.
  16. I run mine every day to work and back, 12 miles (ish) each way plus a bit of running about and it costs me about £50 a week in fuel. As for running costs, when i totalled my bills up last i had spent £2,377 on general maintainance and servicing etc but thats over 2 years, so when you look at it like that just over £20 a week to keep a zed on the road isn't bad i dont think. Those figures dont include insurance and tax etc, at 23 i guess you would be looking at over a grand a year, if you get an import most insurance companies will demand a tracker wheras uk will only need cat 2 immobiliser and possibly need a cat 1 alarm. Benefits of uk and jap vary, but on a uk you will get wider rear tyres and actuated rear shocks, but the japs have electic folding mirrors to compensate!!! leather used to be rare on the japs but not so anymore. Parts wise you will pay no more for jap bits than uk ones (as 95%) of them are the same, and some (like the rear shocks) are actually cheaper than the uk ones. Be very careful buying from dealers too, im not saying that they are all bad but ive seen people pay £6k+ for cars that aren't half as good some that people have bought for £4k. Buy a good one and you'll be very happy, buy a bad one and it will financially ruin you!! Good Luck in your search. If you search on the forum for dodgy dealers it should tell you where to steer clear of.
  17. Probably cos, theyre too scared about the bad publicity they will get if your not satified with the work!!!!!
  18. May I ask how much you paid for your set of F1's??
  19. Mac, you havent added your latest mod......... .......Your MANUAL gearbox!!! It's just going to slow it down!!!!
  20. Thats why i said safe(ish)!!! Normally i drive like an old man, but every now and then everyone gets their foot down. ;)
  21. Yes it will, no matter how big your boot, it wont be big enough!
  22. Could of been mine.......except I wasnt in reading today and nor was I!!
  23. Scoobs drive like rovers, the drive cant even be compared to the zed, and as for economy you will save nothing, the money you save on a bit of petrol you will pay in insurance, the diff between group 19 and 20. Ive said this before and i'll say it again, KEEP THE ZED!!! I had a guy come in the shop and offer me £5k for mine a couple of weeks ago, and althought i was tempted for a second, id only have to find another one. Better the devil you know i say.
  24. Garbox lol, Its similar to a Gearbox!!! Fookin cordless keyboard, and crap spelling, not a good combination!!
  25. When I had it the garbox blew (but that must of been fixed as it now works!). But apart from that, the drivetrain seemed to have serious problems, i'm not talking a bit of prop vibes either, this thing could nearly rattle your teeth out at speeds over 60!!! Dont get me wrong, if this garage has sorted the vibes, they have obviously done the gearbox, all that the new owner will need to do is fix the telly that dont work, and the cruise, repair the rip in the drivers seat, put a normal steering wheel in it, sort the lifting dash, fit a rear fog, get an MPH speedo and they will be fine. And then they will be able to enjoy all the grip that the 4 new tyres that i bought for it will provide them with!!! Not that im bitter!!! And if the new owner got a warranty with "Warranty Holdings" with the car, i would check the validity of it BEFORE you need to claim!!!! I also wish to point out again for the sake of the forum and any legal suff, that I did not buy the car from this garage (as far as i know), and that ive had no dealings with them, i simply bought this same zed from a dealer in Nottingham who was not on the level to say the least! But on the plus side to this whoeer bought this has possibly got a zed with one of the best set of headlamps ive ever seen, i would say other good things about it, but i honestly cant think of any!!!!
