  1. Will it still do safetyboost on a J spec? Didnt think they had it?
  2. My zed hit 16.6 psi yesterday with the boost controller switched off. Im wagering theres nowt wrong with the BC now and thinking it could be a sticky wastegate. Anyone know a way of bypassing a boost controller to see how it performs stock. Also can a leak in any of the pipes cause overboost like this?? I knew the zed had been trouble free for too long!!!

  5. Nope, was stock till the profec was put in, has ran great for 6 months, now its just gone mad on boost. Used to run a steady 5.5 to 7 psi stock with the controller off, but now it hits 15.
  6. I now think ive ruled out a problem with the boost controller, unless it is the soleniod stuck in the same position. Even if i turn off the boost controller off all together, its still pumping out abou 15 psi at wide open throttle, having said that if i put the controller on the hi setting it can hit max of 16psi before it alarms and backs off. Fookin thing is doing my head in, is there a simple method of unplumbing the controller and putting it back to stock, to rule the controller out altogether. Its a greddy profec e01 if that helps. Any ideas appreciated on causes of this or ways to test the wastegates etc. :headvswal

  8. If its clicking with a 12v supply then surely it means its free? Any way of looking at the wastgates without tearing the car apart?

My zed started boosting a wee bit over the 13 psi the controller was set to, so at the boat chunk and i lowered the settings on the controller to keep it at 13 ish, just took her out and shes trying to boost upto 15 with the lower settings. Even when i turn the controller off i get a boost of about 14 psi when i should be seeing around 9. I think ive eliminated the soleniod as if i give it 12v dc to the connecter, its clicking like it should. Any ideas appreciated.
  12. Thats mineral oil :eek: And 5000 miles is a bit long. I use valvoline racing fully synthetic 5w50 and change every 2 to 3000 miles.

    Put Bosch ones on, they should be better.
  25. Does anyone know of an ideal baby seat for the back of the zed, I know im going to have to fit a 3 point belt, but i can find these bits fronm one of chunks breakers, just want to know if anyone knows of any that are a good fit for the zeds rear seat. I guess there is no baby seats that can be secured with a lapbelt alone?
