I take it youve checked all your fluid levels?? Brake, power steering etc?? The speedo thing could be the speed sensor, when mine went the spedo went intermitent, the hicas light would come on after a few minuites driving and the steering would be a barstard to turn. The lights one normally means youve got a knackered bulb somewhere, mine does it every time i brake but i cant find any bulbs out so i just dont let it bother me (its like an internal brake light!) Though i have been told that this works on resistance so in theory there could be a bulb on its way out thats still working. As for the "Brake" light im not quite sure what your on about there. That was the funny thing when i put in my reg it came up with my old zed which i insured as a Z31 (as i knew no better then) so i changed it to 1990 onwards, so yep its deffo Z32. Not bad considering most insurance sites think my reg is either a 1,.2 nova or a lilac astra gte cabriolet!!!!

Where exactly is the sensor for this located as i got in mine today an inch of ice on it and it said 0 degrees ( must have been minus something) or do they only go down to zero. Might give mine a clean if i can find it!

Forgive my ignorance, but surely a thin sheet of polythene type material would be more likely to sustain damage from stone chips etc, thus instead of having a scratch on the paint youd get a scratch on the plastic over the paint???? Or is the idea to peel it off if this happens and reapply a new sheet, if thats the case forget i said anything!! Hmmm good idea i think.
