  1. Jap Fairlady. I paid £1600 with no claims protection. I got 4 years no claims bonus! This was the cheapest out of many! It does depend on your area though!
  2. Sorry to bring up an old thread but I wanted to thank 'pimpdroopycock'. I picked up my 300zx twin turbo yesterday. I got insured with A-Plan and they were by far the cheapest. I wouldnt have even thought of them if it wasnt for 'pimpdroopycock' so many thanks! :D Its currently in the garage getting the Clifford Concept 650 fitted. Got withdrawal symptoms already!
  3. Im looking into getting my car undersealed too. I didnt think Jap Imports were undersealed as the Japs dont use salt for their roads. I was thinking of getting the thick 'wax oil', which you put on with a paint brush but there's no way you'd get into every crack and cranny. This stuff is used to protect the car from road salt and grit and protects from rust! There is a spray available made by 'wax oil' for undersealing cars. Halfords do it, it costs approx £5.99. However, you must be careful not to spray rubber hoses etc as it will perish them after a while. I used this stuff on my last car. It is used to prevent rust and a like but not sure if it protects against road salt and grit. But any barrier between the salt, grit and the cars metal work is better than nothing!
  4. Just found this http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-127927059567338748&q=300zx
  5. That was so funny I had to stop watching it!
  6. Sorry to hear about your car dude! How much is that gonna cost you? Thats what im mostly scared of. Damage by jealous youths, and me having to pay for it! I always hunt for a safe parking spot wherever I go, even if its an extra mile away. However, this shouldnt be the case! My mates got an Evo 6. The other day, someone shouted 'nice spoiler, s**t car'. So my mate shouted 'yeah but its better than getting the bus'. This bloke then went and sit at the bus stop.

  8. Admiral dont cover Coilovers! Dont know if you have them! Cheapest quotes I found, both cover all mods inc Coilovers! A-Plan Adran Flux
  9. Mine is a 1995. I dont mind putting the CATS back for the MOT. Its just the insurance im concerned about. I cant see the Insurance company covering the car if I have decats coz from 1992 you need CATS by law?
  10. Do you know the thread? Thanks
  11. Hi Guys, This may seem a bizarre question, but thought id ask it anyway :x: If you prang it, are the insurance in the right not to pay out if you have a decat, where you should have a catalyst if the car is over 1991? Basically, I want to remove the cats, but I dont want the insurance to be null and void if involved in an accident.
  12. Cheque on its way
  13. This is true! I have a cheque written out to join the club. I'll post tonight :hyper:
  14. Hi mate Yes its a jap import. Arrived last wednesday. Currently awaiting it to be registered in UK and have the rear fogs done etc. The car looks in excellent condition. Engine sounded sweet and overall was mint. It got an auction grade 4. However, it has little service history but has had a cam belt change. I plan to really look after this car, no expense will be spared. As for your new ECU wiring loom, why do you recommend changing this? Also, is there anything I need to look out for or is there anything worth replacing? Someone said to change the oil lines to the turbos? Im not brilliant at mechanics but would love to know how. Im gonna buy a workshop manual and try doing some of it myself, but its hard when you dont have all the tools or garage facilities!
  15. Hi guys, I have bought a 300zx Twin Turbo with approx 100,000 KPH on the clock (60,000 miles). It should be ready to collect next week and I cant wait :hyper: However, I have just found out that a work colleague has had two of them and he said they are very unreliable. He said both of his kept braking down and he's a mechanic! :x: Have you found 300zx's to be reliable? Thanx
  16. If converted to UK MPH you should have got a certificate if fitted by a garage to show what the KPH mileage was before the conversion.
  17. Hi Stricker, Im actually from Orpington. I tell everyone im from Bromley as most people havent heard of Orpington. lol. Where is MJP and who are they? Thanks Col
  18. Hi, I have just bought a 300zx Twin Turbo, collecting next week! My first task is to get it serviced i.e. oil change, gear box oil change, new brake pads and a good thorough check to make sure all is in order! Can anyone recommend a garage that is in reasonable distance to South East London. I'm from Bromley, Kent! I would like to take it to a Z specialist but I dont think there is anyone local, they all seem to be miles away. What about Abbey Motor sport? I know they deal with Skylines etc. Recommendations appreciated. Col
  19. Cool, I will continue to hunt for a cheaper quote. i'll check with A-plan, thanks for this. I know insurance greatly reduces when you're 25, so only a year to wait! Thanks guys!
  20. Hi mate, what mods did the TT have that you got quoted? The one I got quoted has sports exhausts, bomex spoiler, tinted windows, alloys and coilovers. Nothing too drastic!
  21. Im 23, 24 next month and also have 4 years no claims! My cheapest quote is £1600 with Admiral, but apparently they dont cover coilovers. i'll check with them again though. The next cheapest quote was with Adrian Flux at £1800. I'll try A-Plan next week :-)

I think you can get anti-squeel pads. Dont know if they work tho!
  23. All I can suggest is to go to a Clifford registered dealer and ask for their advice. They might be able to change the immobiliser or something!

Its probably due to warped discs!
  25. My friend got an RAC check on his Evo 6 and said he got a fantastic report. The RAC inspector found scratches on the glass that my friend didnt notice (the garage repaired this for free when they found out), they also said the brake discs were warped and would need replacing soon. 6 months later, yep he had to have them replaced. I would still recommend getting an inspection done. I've had all good reports for those that have had them done. However, it is true that they take nothing apart so they cannot really check the turbos from a mechincal point of view. They can only check the boost readings, to make sure the turbos are pulling hard. They will also check for smoke coming out of the exhausts, check for leaks and pressure problems etc. The normal checks related to turbo problems!
