  1. Heard on the news he is considering giving up on his latest venture. He has realised that spending 40 days in a box doing fook all will come nowhere near Emile Heskey`s record!!!!

Worth considering, unless it`s changed but insurance companys consider the TT and the N/A as the same thing! Try these, http://www.prestigemotorsport.co.uk/ i have them looking for a GTR33 for me at the mo. Bob
  3. Cheers Paul, Going this weekend, if i`m not having it i`ll tell you all about it !! Bob
  4. Been offered a car that is on the list as Category D, guy says car has been is front end crash and has had new wing, bonnet and bumper. Does this sound right for Cat D and would an RAC/AA inspection pick up on and chassis damage if any? Car is going for 10k when straight ones are 15k Any advice. Bob PS It`s a GTR33
  5. If there is no switched live then relay is good idea. Unusual not to have one though! Bob
  6. Shouldn`t need a relay as the blue wire switches an internal relay in the sub, same as an amp. Bob
  7. one of the wires that goes to the radio will be on the light circuit. you need a metre to chech which one it is as you may have shorted it out. Bob
  8. Just seen this on the scooby forum. There is to be a meet at Vauxhalls works at J7 M53 this Sunday betweek 12 and 4. It is for a young lad who is terminally ill with cancer but is into modded and performance cars. This looks like a big show as it`s been on a few forums. Anyone up for it? Bob
  9. New Range Rover with Overfinch conversion. Then again i am getting on a bit so not into the boy racer cars!!

50-75 RMS would do the job, any more would be a waste as you would be pusing them to the max which will kill them off. Bob
  11. If you don`t want the toad alarm to lock the doors when you get in, start the car with the door open, then close the door and drive off, if the alarm has been fitted properly the doors will not lock. Bob
  12. Get onto trading standards or tell the company you want it taking out and a refund. You are perfectly within your rights to do it. Bob
  13. Yeah, buy one for £4.99 and you get an air filter, fuel filter, timing belt and spare turbo for free. Are we having a deal or are we having a deal !!
  14. I have a 1/5 scale which uses a chainsaw/flymo engine. Runs on 2 stroke and uses 1/4 scale servo`s. The radio gear, 1 big steering servo, one for rear brake and throttle and another for front disc brakes cost about £160.00. Goes like something posessed and great for donughts!! Bob
  15. Why can`t i tick them all ! Gone for lane hoggers as that does piss me off when they sit in the middle lane with nothing in front of them. Bob
  16. Wasn`t it on TG a couple of weeks back where they said that basically whatever car AMG bang an engine in it becomes the fastest in the world in it`s category. Is one mother of a car though. Bob
  17. I`m active when someone pisses me off. Run a small car hi-fi/security/gadget business but don`t know what i`m doing. Bob
  18. Thanks for replys guys, engine is solid with the starter and plugs out. Tried turning it on the flywheel but still solid. Anyone got an engine ! Bob
  19. Taken all the plugs out and tried cranking it, still the same.
  20. Had a 300 towed in today as the guy said it wouldn`t start due to an electrical fault after driving through a puddle. Basically the car was just giving a loud click on cranking, sounded like starter or battery. Stuck the boost pack on it but still nothing. Anyway after a bit of searching and digging found the problem, 1" of water in both plenium`s!! The guy had driven through what he thought was a puddle but turned out to be a 3ft puddle! So what damage are we looking at?, engine sounds siezed and i ain`t no mechanic so me mate is having a butchers but doesn`t look good. What is the worst that could have happened, bent rods etc or just plain siezed? Bob
  21. I think we should think about what a FF job involves. Think about how oftern you call the Fire-Brigade out when no fire is actually involved. RTA, you are stuck in your car and need to be cut out, who gets called- Fire Brigade, NO FIRE Your mates get the hand-cuffs out and stick you to the railings, who cuts you out, Fire Brigade, NO FIRE Cat stuck up a tree, again Fire Brigade. Those of you having a dig should realise that the FF role has changed so much over the years they don`t really justify geing called Fire Fighters as it`s only a percentage of their job. (% would be of interest Mark) I am in full support of them and find it unreasonable for anyone to expect someone to take the risks they take for the same money as a Binman. Bob
  22. Spot on Dave, the 300 has what we call Single Point Locking. This means that the central locking will only work with a key from a single point, the drivers door. In the drivers door there is a switch, which when you turn the key sends a signal to the other doors telling them to lock. This causes problems when fitting an alarm as the switch can not physically lock the door, so we fit a motor in the drivers door which is driven by the alarm and connected to the rod that locks the door. The result is that when you arm your alarm you activate the new motor in the door which moves the locking rod which in turn kids the switch into thinking it`s been done with a key so sends a signal to the other doors to lock. Unlocking is simply the reverse. So there you have it, multipoint systems are much easier!! Bob
