Which car do I keep? Do I set up my own business?
Okay from running a small self employed business: Option 1) Keep the civic. If you are going to be doing alot of mileage then it makes more sense in the long run to keep the civic. Sell the vectra and and use a little bit of money to tidy up the civic, it seemed in good nick when i saw it so a little bit of effort would make it look very presentable when turning up to meetings. Option 2) Keep the Vectra, from a marketing point of view it's a nice, normal commuter/sales car. Not too flash to be considered vulgar and that you just make your margins and move on. The civic may work against you as with marketing i know first impressions last and if they think "well if he's only driving a 15 year old civic then he can't be that good". They would look at the vectra, see it as a sensible choice of car, it's smart and isn't too old and will last you longer than the civic in some ways and more importantly the last thing you want to do is turn up to an improtant meeting and be tired and i know from driving bigger cars you always feel refreshed when you arrive In terms of setting up the business i still go by the rule of all you need is a business card! I walked into many a business over the 6 years i've been trading and introduced myself. I've had a website and pamphlet to hand and more times than not been recommended by word of mouth to the potential customer so there's no need for reams of business plans just a business bank account you can accept cheques into and that's it. If you're employing anyone else or you need a business start up loan then you WILL have to present a business plan and the bank will more than likely help you get started by pointing you in the right directions if you ask them. Take as much evidence of your skills as you can when you go (a cv or report would do) Think about contracts early on, take out indemnity insurance and become a limited company to be covered if anything goes wrong and notify the tax office so you can start paying your stamp duty. We'll have to have a proper chat on the subject one night buddy when you're free and we'll discuss your ideas :)

Did zelda get ugly???
Hold on a minute here, are we not talking about 2 different cars here? I thought Zelda was a completely different car to the one Jay has up for sale? :confused1: Jay's car: EDIT: Ahhh i'm glad i'm not the only one! So really if this is basically saying that you don't like "Jay's" car i think you ought to be careful not to offend him as it's a lovely machine.

iphone 5
I have to agree with andy, having just sold my Mac Pro for £1300 to buy a modern gaming pc i find i'm leaning towards turning it into a hackintosh and putting OSx Lion on a separate hard drive to boot on. The constant updates, virus scans, etc that you need to do just make it secure are hilarious and the incompatibility of certain programs in 64bit is frustrating. The iphone interface is so natural and smooth, having tried both android and iOS on numerous phones i still think apple have the leads in terms of their operating system. A testament to this fact is watching my dad use an ipad he bought recently. If he can use that without messing up once then that must be pretty good, he can't stop messing around with it and the look of joy on his face when he discovers a new feature is just magic :) Half the fun of iOS is finding little features they've added that make things so much simpler I'm still on iPhone 3Gs and it's still a brilliant brilliant phone!

What have i done!
If i hadn't have been trying to finish the V8 at the time i was seriously concidering buying your lovely yellow beast - so glad to see you've bought it back mate :hyper: Keep it clean and i'll buy it off you next time you get bored of it

iphone 5
I'm an apple guy, i had a top spec mac pro and i use a mac book pro for work. I've got an iPhone 3Gs at the moment but decided i would wait after iPhone 4 for the S version or an iPhone 5 - whichever comes first. That phone won't appear in September, there's been leaks of reports saying that the tsunami has slowed production of the parts they need to assemble the new phones so i can't see it arriving till after Christmas. The one to look out for is iPad3 which should be here this year with supposedly a retina display - at that point i might just buy one and a Samsung Galaxy S 2 which is an awesome phone from what i found trying it out in the shop. There's also a google nexus 3 phone out in september with a QUAD core processor(!) and amoLED display like the galaxy s 2

Saab update, if you haven't all lost the will to live yet, like I have
When a guy bought then changed his mind over my TT and was being a dick about it i bought up his opposing domain name (his was sollihullcars.co.uk so i bought .com) and set up a picture of delboy to appear full screen with the only fools and horses theme tune playing in the background. Needless to say google liked my site more than his and any customers searching for his site were met by del boy's mug

Antera 309's
Spigot rings? Do you mean the spacers? I bought some 20mm bolt on spacers from Andy Isherwood for the fronts but one i'd dropped it they looked fine on the car and my dad needed them instead.

Sorry to see you've both had to put up with someone like this making your lives a misery buddy and hope you get it nipped in the bud soon before it goes any further

I miss my two autos! My old TT auto was taken round silverstone and castle combe and didn't miss a beat in the 2 years i owned it. Very smooth and very underrated IMHO!

Antera 309's
I've got a set of 309s on mine, i'm not sure on the width on them but i found my front ones needed a little bit of spacing to get them sitting right but the back were perfect but i think they're 9.5s

totally gutted.
After having to cut through the hicas pipe to get to the girder to put cuts in to weaken it enough to knock it back and taking my leg out in the process i don't think it's going ot polish that bit out
-
totally gutted.
It runs like a dream :D Just cut off half the front end and straightened the front chassis rail with a sledge hammer  Started on the key first time and no smoking from the turbos even without the exhaust so i think i've got a good little engine for the V8 shell. A shame really because it's a lovely car and a really nice colour too :(

So russian dating site then?
Haha, believe me she was fun but christ not long term :rolf: We'll see what happens mate, not sure myself if i prefer the easy life of being single - i'm too busy to have a gf at the moment anyway so it just ends up in arguments! We've got a week away in france together in a couple of weeks and a few weeks of her staying up here so we'll see if it sorts itself out before she goes back to reading. Any polish/slovaks/slovenians are gratefully received - i worked with a load of them for a couple of year and some of the women are stunning! :)

So russian dating site then?
I haven't found a good one yet, most of the attractive "nice" ones over here are emotionally damaged, have a past you'd rather not know about or fleece you for every penny you have then fook off. And you never find this out till your in too deep :headvswal 4 years with a serial self abuser 6 months with an agoraphobic 6 months with a girl with split personalities 2 years and an engagement to a liar, cheat and thief 1 month with a gorgeous looking girl who turned out to be an alchoholic, an ex porn star and coke addict 3 months with an amazing girl but who had moral issues and strayed 3 times Various "hmm i'm not sure if i want a relationship right now" after a month and finally a year and a bit with a great girl but she's recently turned very immature and i can't deal with her so we're on a break till August when she finishes her PGCE and comes to try and salvage our relationship ...and the rest are all taken and have been taken for many years. As someone said, if you don't get in early you miss the boat and your left with the ones who've had 6 kids and an abusive partner or had a drug addiction or etc etc! The rest are either obsessed with their career or like the single life and live it till they're wrinkly, burnt out and smell of fags and fake tan! So russian bride sounds like a great option!
