yes this is the route a lot of people take (smw1 for example) tailgate skin is straight forward to fit for a decent bodyshop, however when mine was fitted my tailgate had rusted away and needed rewelding

increased oil pressure can cause oil seals to blow (turbos, rear engine ect ect)

about 160 for a recon unit if you go down that path on an exchange basis (my recon one looked brand new)
