connection speed over about 256k won't really have a baring on the sites speed, network congestion, routing problems could cause you problems, we will see by next week when the new server is up and running correctly :)

Ok I have just updated the database software on this server to use some caching, could anyone tell me if this appears to improve performance, good news is that the new server is here and I will be spending the week configuring that and getting everything moved over, it may mean a few hours downtime whilst DNS switches over but i will try and do it at a quiet period :) Thankyou for all your suggestions, ill update that thread when the server is online with the ones we plan on implementating.

New server should be here any day soon so I will be setting that up, Any one have any suggestions for features they would like implemented in the future as we will soon have the processing power to offer a lot more.

no mate lol, its a business contract, I think I have about 6 phones on it currently :). Orange are excellent, they give us 2000 shared minutes and about 500 shared texts, the plan with vodaphone was useless, and beware of vodaphone, they have phoned up several of my freinds to inform them that changing to a new package will save them money only for them to have their next phone bills double :S,

Phone bill with vodaphone was 1200quid a month, with orange it is around the 400quid mark, can't fault their customer service, I would recommend their business department to anyone, vodaphone are a load of tosh IMHO, they have eventually managed to rip off every one I have known on them, including debt collectors to a few even when the banks reversed their direct debits as they were incorrect.
