I have had minimal contact with SE, but I went to their open day, Pete seems like a top bloke, he is extremely knowledgable about the engine, not just to the extent of your basic mechanic, this man will go into the tiniest details of any component. I learnt a fair bit from him. Bob is a salesman, he talks the talk and is a very good salesman, Idealy when dealing with a garage I don't want to talk to a salesman I want to talk the the mechaninc working on my car. I get the impression they are set in their ways about how they will do things. I think they prefer things are done properly with the correct parts that are rated for the job, this often means upgrading stock parts which some people argue on the forum do not necessarily need upgrading. You usually only hear the bad experiences and never the good ones, I know they have had their fair share of engine blowups but I think if you are building cars with big HP then a few will blow up. Bob was telling us all about the massive BHP some of the SE cars were going to put out on the rolling road. None of them hit over 400@ the fly (no car did). PaulCs setup which is home tuned by him with stock internals could have got the greatest results of the day if his plastic fantastic tyres had got traction ;) I guess the greatest fear I have of using them is their time scale, I am going to use them for my next service, but sitting in a reception for 5 hours is unacceptable to me, going over schedule without prior warning is also something I find unacceptable if no unknown problems crop up. If you can't do the work then you should not take it on. This is my view of them based on my very limited interaction with them.
  4. You don't need persuading, you need to take one for a drive, if you like then you buy :)

  10. Isn't there a guidline for how long jobs take? If I want my engine pulled and it takes nissan 24 hours, I should only pay what the book says surely?
  11. Very nice :) lets see how they perform, could very well be tempted to do these
  12. Right who's going, I guess we can start with that and then work out the best places to meet :)
  13. Well I've been in PaulC's car and SMW1's car when they were both on safety boost and it was reading 7psi. I guess its just a case of plumbing in a boost gauge on a stock car.
  14. Original meaning was Board Of Bitchyness when things were kicking off around here, Now I think its come to mean more - Boosted On Budget
  15. The main problem I have with the outcry is the "she was beautiful" Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all but I don't think she was at all attractive, My dad met her once when she was touring BT, he said her skin was abslutely terrible,
  16. Are you going over 30mph? cruise control only works over 30mph and below 100mph
  17. if its a queen bee then 3-5 years, if its a drone male bee then 40-50 days ;) if its a worker female then about 24 days
  18. I think your car would be best suited to a dark colour leather, A dark version of lack's leather with red piping would be gorgeus http://rides.300zx.co.uk/rides/174/retrim_june_2001.jpg Thats my favorite leather job ever, I wish i had the money for his car :(
  19. I know this, its becoming quite apparent she spent most of her life moaning! We all drive powerful cars, we know what its like to have a bit of trouble at speed, if he's pissed and hit a bump into a tunnel then he is going to have an accident, they weren't wearing their seatbelts either. Its a shame she's dead, but no more a shame than anyone else who dies before their time.
  20. yes I fixed it :P
  21. ;) I think for a controller though I would go for the blitz setup, noce features and the powerID is cool, mac and smw1 run this setup
  22. I had 203bhp @ wheels My gtech has showed around a 10bhp increase since fitting induction kit, Still not sure if im making thor, im not on the list anyway,
  23. I had both rear sills replaced for £140 cash The bloke seriously undercharged though and said he should have charged double that,
  24. Pulling metal to get a good finish is difficult, I have had my rear sills replaced due to rust, you just need a bodyshop who is good with a welder, mine made me up the new sills themself.
  25. Boost gauge :) then up the boost hehe,
