  1. Can't see any porno up there. :(
  2. Correct, PCD is 5 x 114.3 ideal offset is between 35 and 42. Also, check the centre-bore. Ideally, it should be 66mm Miiiiiiiike, looks like you've got a set of rims from a Honda or something.
  3. I dunno why, but I like Roger Moore and for some reason, my favourite Bond film is 'The Spy who loved me'. Brosnan is a close second. Connery follows very close behind.
  4. No they won't fit. Besides, 7.5 all round is super skinny. It'll look ridiculous. Better off sticking with the stock TT wheels.
  5. Anyone see it? I think it was the same chap that Glenn posted a link to. The item was about young drivers and accidents etc. Last person to be interviewed was Nick...the guy from South Wales who had some photos of his smashed up white Z.
  6. So what rims did it have originally then? V6 Calibras have alloys as standard. Infact, the only Calibra not to have hubcaps was the really earlyu G/H and J plate 8vs. You want hubcaps?? Christ, you are so fucking vague sometimes!
  7. Oh right I see. Excrement! I shall buy some new ones tomorrow or raid the Cavalier CDX at my local scrappers.
  8. Right, since most of the front end of my car is now it bits, I just as well replace the crappy Datsun Cherry 1.3DX horns. I took one off and it only has one connector...being crap with electrics, I'm not sure how to wire back in twin spade connectors to a single spade wire...?? Do I just run one of the to the body of the car with a random wire??
  9. What a bloody joke! How difficult is it to take some pesky headlights out? I've stripped as much as I can off the front and I still can't get to the bloody inner rear bolts. HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET THE FUCKING THING OFF??? :headvswal
  10. Giant pubic lice? LOL
  11. It depends on how long you want to store it I guess. You can go as far as putting the thing up on axel stands, taking the wheels off, putting it in one of those sealed bags with an extractor/dehumidifier, draining the coolant out and all sorts. I store mine usually for about 3 to 4 months over the winter period in a heated garage. It'll get moved and driven up near when it's stored when it's dry as the road is never gritted/salted.
  12. That's what it's ment to do....but depends on where the needle is sitting. Senders pack up on them sometimes.
  13. Agree with Allan. It's not a bad job to do yourself. The Cam sprockets are loaded though, so you'll need to clamp them. There's a special cam lock tool you can get, but a set of mole wrenches should suffice. There are 3 rollers on the C25XE. Two are located on a bracket assembly and are adjustable. There's a 3rd lower down as well....which I think is fixed and doesn't need adjusting. Replace the water pump too while everything's off. Quite easy to do and they aren't expensive.
  14. Hahaha! Nice one. I store my Z about 7 miles from my house as there's a garage and some hard standing. One of my neighbours is a retired design engineer and he's bought a unit (double decker) with a 4 poster ramp in it and says I can use it whenever... :)
  15. Like I said, no GTE 16v was ever fitted with catalytic converters.... ;) Even late ones in that shell were 20XE. ;) Catalyst was available however on Cavalier GSis. But only from about early 92 I think. The 4x4 GSis came with it as standard. Slightly different ECU as they have another few sensors. The very late ones as fitted to the Astra GSi (L - M reg came with dis-pack as opposed to the early models which came with a distributer. Again, different ECUs, but retained the engine code.
  16. No, I think you'll find that the early ones were 20XE. The 'C' denotes the fact that it's Catalyst equipped. No Astra GTE was ever fitted with a Catalyst (other than the late edition 8v GTE Cabrios...Late J and early K reg).
  17. LOL thanks mate. Still got lots to do on it to make it as clean/crisp as possible. Don't think I'll be able to get it to concours level as I don't have a 4 poster ramp! LOL. But just trying to make it look as tidy as possible. :)
  18. They've been done already as the headlights are very very clean. So will most likely leave it. Just want to clean the bits where the claps are for the rubber seals.
  19. Thanks mate. Well the headlight panel hasn't been built back up yet, nor the front section arch liners, so should be able to access them. Looks feckin awkward though.
  20. Oh excellent! I'm quite pally with the guys at Svitzer Marine (tug operators in the Bristol Channel) and go out on the tugs from time to time. I'm a ships agent for Inchcape Shipping Services.
  21. MK2 Astra GTEs were available in 8v guise too. Infact early ones used the 18SE engine as fitted to the SRi (C and early D reg cars). When the SRi was launched (87), the 20SEH (2.0 8v) was fitted to the GTE as well as the 16v 20XE. Early Cavalier SRis came with the 20SEH 8v unit as fitted to the 8v GTE. Late Cavalier SRis also were fitted with the X20XE (16v) and the really early facelift Cavaliers (K and early L reg) actually had the C20XE as fitted to the Cavalier/Astra GSis. The facelift SRi 8v car was then fitted with a Catalyst equiped 8v unit, the C20NE which was also fitted to 2.0 8v MK3 Astras and the very last production MK2 Astra Cabrio (j and K reg). Incidently, the GTE convertible was never available with a 16v engine. Infact, the 8v 2.0 engine fitted to that was the low compression 20NE and C20NE....the higher compression 20SEH was fitted to the tin top GTE and developmed about 15bhp more.
  22. LOL! Cavalier GSis just need lowering and nothing else. I had one as a runabout about 4 years ago. Lovely car actually. Fitted H&R springs to mine and it handled like a dream. Unlike conventional Cavaliers, the GSi came with the independant rear suspension (also fitted to 4x4/turbo models) and do handle very well when fitted with uprated springs.
  23. Ok, so I took the rubbers out before the car was resprayed. I now want to clean the outer bits of the headlights, now that the bumper's off, but how do I take the headlights out? I see there are two bolts at the front, are there two bolts at the back...and if so, how the hell do you get to them? Ta
