finding recently that when ive been driving around town my oil pressure gauge is just dropping down sometimes and sitting flat then give it a little bit of gas and the gauge will come back up, sometimes it will stay up or just go back down, constantly checking oil and its not losing any oil.

Any ideas what this could be

cheers

That's what it's ment to do....but depends on where the needle is sitting. Senders pack up on them sometimes.

The oil pressure sender commonly fails or the pinhole can get blocked.

Ryan - if you talking about the standard oil pressure gauge in the pod -

You can't rely on it - it is notoriously bad and irregular.

You could try cleaning the contacts on the oil pressure sender to start but...

...Or (REGULARLY) replace the OEM oil sender unit (MJP will supply) - I think it's around eighty squids - or fit a good quality after market oil pressure gauge via a sandwich plate or similar.

I fitted a sandwich plate under the oil filter during an oil change and that allowed me to fit pretty much any oil pressure and oil temp sender/gauge combination I wanted so...

Hope that helps. Just based on my experience - I am not a subject expert
