Ok, so I took the rubbers out before the car was resprayed. I now want to clean the outer bits of the headlights, now that the bumper's off, but how do I take the headlights out? I see there are two bolts at the front, are there two bolts at the back...and if so, how the hell do you get to them?

Two more at the back, from memory one you can get to from the centre panel the other you need to get at from the wheel arch liner.

Thanks mate. Well the headlight panel hasn't been built back up yet, nor the front section arch liners, so should be able to access them. Looks feckin awkward though.

Not too bad to do once you have lost all the skin off your knuckles, while they are out you might want to think about taking them apart and cleaning them inside, it makes a real difference to the headlights.

They've been done already as the headlights are very very clean. So will most likely leave it. Just want to clean the bits where the claps are for the rubber seals.

I dont think there is much on that car thats not VERY VERY CLEAN ;) , if I have not told you before, love the car and dedication you are putting into it.

LOL thanks mate. Still got lots to do on it to make it as clean/crisp as possible. Don't think I'll be able to get it to concours level as I don't have a 4 poster ramp! LOL. But just trying to make it look as tidy as possible. :)

I am actually at the stage of considering moving house so the car has more room :D

Hahaha! Nice one. I store my Z about 7 miles from my house as there's a garage and some hard standing. One of my neighbours is a retired design engineer and he's bought a unit (double decker) with a 4 poster ramp in it and says I can use it whenever... :)

What a bloody joke! How difficult is it to take some pesky headlights out? I've stripped as much as I can off the front and I still can't get to the bloody inner rear bolts. HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET THE FUCKING THING OFF??? :headvswal

When all else fails I always use my fave tool. I use it on every repair and always cures the fault.

been ages since i did mine -but i remember a ratchet spanner was essential!! ****in annoyin though... removing a nut one click at a time! good luck!!
