November 7, 200618 yr its an aphid not a termite, termites dont have eyes unless its the winged veriaty the 1 in the pic has eyes and no wings Aphids, or plant lice, are small, soft-bodied, pear shaped insects which are commonly found on nearly all indoor and outdoor plants, as well as vegetables, field crops, and fruit trees. There are hundreds of different species of aphids. Some of them feed only one host plant, while others will feed on many other plants. Most aphids are about 1/10 inch long, and athough most of them are green or black, they may be gray, brown, pink, red, yellow, or lavender. A characteristic common to all aphids is the presence of two tubes, called cornicles, on the back ends of their bodies, sort of like "tailpipes". The cornicles secrete substances that help protect them from predators. In some species the tubes are quite long, while in others they are very short and difficult to see.
