  1. Yeah, keep the A-pillar stock. Pillar pod gauges are really unsightly (IMO).
  2. Correct. I have the worst jack in the entire world. My axle stands will hold it quite high, but I need a new low-profile jack.
  3. I can't get the car high enough to get enough access under it, so it'll be going to Powerzed for that and a whole list of other things, there's also a new alternator/start harness for it too.
  4. I still need to fit my new starter motor! Too much to do as I haven't fitted the front coilovers yet either.
  5. Ripe for de-bodykitting and turning back into a clean original UK car, or at least a stock tt bumper with a Stillen lip to match; those rabbithutch-petticoat things never looked good. Very good price.
  6. Better than the caravan lights Ian!
  7. Black would be too much of a contrast in my opinion. Try and find a photo of the rear of Andy Isherwood's old shortie, he did his in either a carbon or dark grey with afterburners and despite not being something I'd do, it looked really rather good.
  8. toolboxtrev had that very same issue I think.
  9. .....and get that mesh powdercoated a matte black.
  10. If you like Plaxton Beavers and 90s caravans then I can see their appeal - other than that I think they look terrible. If you're struck on keeping them however (which I sure as hell wouldn't), look at replacing them with the afterburner LED ones and paint that panel a very dark metallic gunmetal grey.
  11. I think it's more the styles of what's on offer.....they ain't what you'd call 'attractive'. That's obviously subjective, but most folk don't like the look of an Austin Maxi for example.
  12. Not at all. Converting to a pinteless injector is futureproofing. I do not want 555s as they're not pinteless. 740s are very tunable, readily available and reliable.
  13. What's sad is, I bet Home Depot were inundated with calls requesting to buy one! 'MERICA!
  14. Just get some 99-specs ffs! :p
  15. The problem with not restricting control on the classifides is that it opens the doors up to other issues. There are plenty of unscrupulous types who have come on here to make a fast-buck with no way of anyone being able to trace them and I believe the reason it was moved over to a subscription access about 5 or 6 years ago was an aid to combat that and protect our members. Granted, that has happened with 'some' subscribed members, however far more when it used to be open to the masses. Plenty of folk being ripped off on Facebook. Generally you know the history and the quality of the parts when they're being sold on the forum and I'd prefer to support the forum's activities and its members rather over some random bloke on a facebook page, but maybe that's just me.
  16. From what I understand and what the tyre guys say (they're a local well established and well regarded independent), Conti Sport Contacts are only marginally better than the Eagle F1s in terms of grip, but they sacrifice heavily in terms of wear rating to obtain that small margin.
  17. I agree with that one! What proportion of unique traffic do we get each day?
  18. This is on my list of things to do once I get the 740s! I'll get Greg to map it around 17PSi too...should make things a little more entertaining. :) (Currently 14Psi)
  19. I paid around £650 for a full set of Goodyear Eagle F1. That doesn't include fitting, balancing and tyre disposal though. I'm fitting them one by one so I can clean the inside properly and do some suspension adjustment in between. £750 all-in which is pretty good as most tyre places charge around £850.
  20. At the end of the day it's all in the fueling. Choose your injectors and get a proper rolling road remap from someone like Greg @ Protuner. Anti knock fuels won't save an engine that is running boost, mainly a more general purpose application to help engines and their change in driving environments. I don't quite know why you want to raise the compression. 'A wicked mean looking body kit' and 'ZCentre' in the same sentence fills me with horror.
  21. ....I also think you were looking at the wrong date. There are actually no roadworthy ones left as of 2017 according to that. It also appears there are Z31 models in there too. If you type in 'Fairlady' you get yet more.
  22. Check the date stamp on them, it'll be on the tyre-wall somewhere, it'll give a 4 digit code, the week and also year of manufacture. My new tyres for example have 2317 on them (week 23 of 2017). Tyres go hard over time as the rubber degrades. Really they should be changed at around 5 years old irrespective of mileage just like cam belts. Look at the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 - people are generally suggesting they're a little better than the PZero. When 'Car' did a test of them, they came out second beneath Continental which I nearly went for.
  23. About as accurate as Labour's fiscal policy. Richard Smith's auto is certainly not the only UK road legal auto left in the country and I am sure there are a number of autos that have been converted to manual that would appear on there as a auto. The UK ones are inaccurate and the imports are even more inaccurate as they were registered as all sorts of things by the variety of importers over the year. I wouldn't take a blind bit of noticed of that site.
