  1. Unsure as to labour costs, but a good 2nd hand box and ancillaries is about £500-700, new clutch will depend on whether you want the stock clutch which is only really good for stock power or an uprated one. If you're looking at buying Crotchrocket's Auto, then it's worth investing in a brand new +96 gearbox which is about £1200.
  2. No worries, my tax is paying for your ass! So you'd better get your ass better hadn't ya! ;) All the best. :duffer: :)
  3. PMSL! Too true! BTW, need more pics of your Stern wheels. They're beautiful!
  4. The Mike Smith fannymoulds are highly rated in the US. I went out in a 700bhp Z out there with those fitted. Good luck with the build. Doing a high power engine build on mine has crossed my mind.....
  5. Sounds like you got off lightly. Handbrake, here's a how2 on how to take up slack in the handbrake cable. http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/208911.html Front pads is pretty easy to do. What did the MOT tester say was buggered in the steering? Was it just the rack bushes? Green stuff pads are more expensive than £45.
  6. This Z is only 900ths of a second slower on the 1/4 mile..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1kk189RvJI
  7. I really want to see someone graft a Mercedes C/E-class vent and washer jets to the back of their bonnet. I think that would look pretty good as far as vented bonnets go. Only bonnet vent that looks good is the Monza style with the bulge.
  8. Standard one or smooth by an absolute mile. Either that or the moulded in bulge that follows the contour of the bonnet bulge (agree with bird). There are almost no aftermarket nose panels that suit the Z. You have nice smooth headlights and this contoured profile of the stock nose panel. By having cutouts and mesh there instead completely ruins the front end IMHO. One of the only nice aftermarket/modded panels I've seen is car.mad's. Very very nice.
  9. I'd rather fit a bonnet vent! Looks like the car's been hit.
  10. Not been to India for about 4 years! LOL
  11. They are quick. Astra VXR is of similar performance, slightly more. I know someone who's got one, had a remap, freer flowing exhaust and a little more boost and it's knocking on the door of stock Z power. In a lighter car that's a bit performance gain over a Z. So it doesn't take a lot.
  12. Hehe. True. :) Sure looks good in the pictures. Just glad you saw the light and didn't go with your 'looks like underseal' 2-tone paint idea. Looks spot on now. :D
  13. Some insane stuff here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wzH30uZy4Q Also, Rex's still sounded awful.
  14. Depends what you want to do to the interior I guess. There's a good site out in Japan that I've bought stuff from a few times. As you've noticed, I've yet to see nice aftermarket auto shifter.
  15. Jimmy hasn't even been a member a year! :p ;)
  16. Stock one's probably about the best you'll find. All the rest look like they were designed for a 1980s Atari /Commadore Joystick manufacturer. lol
  17. PETROL COSTS = LOTS!!! /thread Don't even bother buying a Z if you're in the least bit concerned about fuel costs or maintenence costs
  18. Nice. I do like that Navan spoiler. Certainly better looking than their gearknobs!
  19. No. People just only post up when they have a problem. Plenty on here that seemingly never have issues.
  20. No, it would have been the 2.0 turbo.
