  1. ShelZX had this colour I think. Bit garish IMO. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=106619
  2. Finally managed to strip away the original wires from the connector block on the steering column today to re-fit the cruise control button panel which is now soldered straight in. I've sorted a place to fit the CC buttons which will look flush fitting and factory. Plugged the CC ECU back in and it all works as it should. The only problem being is that if I select cancel, or turn it off (without turning off the master switch) the revs will stay at just under 1800rpm. If I turn the system off completely, then eventually it returns to a normal idle speed. Is there just need for adjustment of the tension on the butterfly? CC cable has more slack than the normal accelerator cable which has the correct amount. If it has more slack, wouldn't you expect this not to happen and the butterfly close completely?
  3. Yes. Ignore ANYTHING that says 'stage' next to it. Useless term. Means nothing. The map is unknown. Better off buying one from a recognised forum member/trader. JeffTT, AndyP, DTA and John Dixon all supply chips.
  4. Erh? I've been saying cost-cutting for the past hour now Joel! Have you 'just' decided to think logically huh? ;)
  5. It might well be chipped, but if you don't know what map is on there, then it's not much use if you want to alter the boost. If you take the ECU out, there's probably a few ways of telling. A lot of aftermarket Japanese ECU chips were soldered directly onto the site the old ones were, so usually noticeable by a stick on the ECU cover. Some though, including most UK ones have chip carriers fitted. Socketed ECUs are easy to spot as it's visible to the eye once you pop open the ECU. If it has a JDM chip in it, then it's mapped for Japanese fuel which is a different octane rating to that over here. It some cases, the chip may have a very aggressive map on it which really isn't suitable at all. But they are an unknown and it's always worth fitting a replacement 'known' chip. There are also boIIocks chips about, Superchips etc are utter cobblers.
  6. 1.2mm should give you a slight raise, nothing massive. Maybe 11-12PSi? All cars respond differently though. It's always best to try larger sizes first. Try a smaller tip. 1mm and see if that makes any difference. If not, then you have either installed them incorrectly....which I doubt you have as there's only one way to do it..lol or you have some kind of other issue. I personally would NEVER fit jets to an unknown/unchipped ECU. The fueling can't compensate enough in the stock map.
  7. COST CUTTING! They probably didn't think it negated the extra expense to supply the part. I can't imagine there would be much difference in running either OEM or WIX filter. Both are of good quality. If there's a good quality one available with a NRV, then that's what I'll have. Cost isn't much different.
  8. ...so yes, it's not in safety boost. Only UK clocks read in PSi.
  9. For the last time...Cost cutting! http://www.wixfilters.com/productinformation/gff_oilfilters.html
  10. If it's -7 to + 7 on the gauge, then it'll be a JDM model which doesn't measure in PSi. It's mmHg.
  11. No nothing wrong with that. Just an observation. NA Z32s were not sold in Europe.
  12. Nissan also cut out the boost gauge on series 3 onward which was a stupid thing to do, even though the stock ones aren't all that accurate.....over time.
  13. Maybe not, but the origins are for a NRV. All WIX filters have a non return valve.
  14. Hello and welcome. Guessing you have a North American import?
  15. Not feeling those; sorry. Looks very well fitted though, seen some horrendous jobs on those. But they sit nice and flush. :)
  16. Warm water with a small amount of detergent in it. ANY rubber/vynil car should be kept off of it. Shiney dashboards are revolting and remind me of taxis with Neal Armstrong mileage.
  17. Nissan stopped selling filters with non return valves about 10 years ago!
  18. That's safety boost then. Get rid of that gauge too! Whoever fitted it needs to learn more about the Z32 which boosts to 9.5PSi!
  19. No, I have never said they were crap. They original OEM Nissan filter fitted to the VG had a non-return valve inside it. The newer ones don't. The filters will still be of good quality. I now use WIX filters which are top quality filters. These have a non-return valve in them like the originals. I have no idea as to whether this option was of huge benefit because there were never any side-by-side trials, but for the cost of the things, I just go with these. They are about the same price as an OEM Nissan filter. I am happy to use either and have been.
  20. He has a suitable map. I won't be running excessive boost. Want to keep it all safe.
  21. The engine is stock.
  22. I've PM'd JD and a chip will be on its way soon. Engine is running 101%, so happy now to turn the boost up a bit.
  23. V50R is a great looking car! Quite like S40 (same car). I do like the new Alfas a lot.
