  1. It runs. :) Nice and smooth, slight difference on tickover, feels slightly more responsive and seems to have a little more response mid range too. Time to increase the boost a little. :D
  2. Oh right, you're talking 'geek'. Don't compute. hehe. ;)
  3. Narrrr, I'd do it in 2 stages if I went for Glacier white pearl. I'd have the shuts all done and the engine bay at a different time, but with bayside blue, I'd have the lot done. BUT, you can strip enough of the engine bay away without having to take the engine out to paint the inner wings, front area and bulkhead.
  4. Old KH6 pearl does fade over time and gives a tabacco stained look to it. Fresh KH6 is completely different.
  5. Who said anything about leaving the engine bay the same colour as it was?
  6. Yup! That's the one. It lightly clicks into place, then you pull the handle down, the top bit slide across and the whole lot is locked into position. Never seen one before.
  7. Actually the guy with the axe is a friend of mine. For those that may remember, he was 'Hawk' from the first few series of Gladiators.
  8. I have mixed feelings on the 99 front as well. I do like it, it makes it look more modern...if done correctly....ie without the ravages of mesh which make them look cheap and nasty, but as you say Bri, doesn't look as aggressive as the original.
  9. :hurl: Sorry mate, but I've seen that done and it looks dreadful. Plus I want absolutely NO filler anywhere near my Z! IMO, the Z needs that line on the sides as it gets higher the further down the car it goes, giving it a little kick on the back end.
  10. Thanks mate! Very happy. That's the nicest 'socket' I've ever seen in an ECU. The proper job! :)
  11. Thing is, with the sides and front fitted, you have a much larger swage like on the rear. I'm a stickler for getting everything to match which is why I dislike most aftermarket bumpers on stock bodied Zs so much. They just look horrendously out of place. I'd have to do the full thing or go another route if I were to fit the Stillen stuff.
  12. That's another option that I've often thought of. I'd have to get the whole stillen kit then for everything to match up. Sides, rear bumper and front extension.
  13. Missing cylinders after a hard run and smoke....mmmmmmm, maybe HG failure. Get a compression check done asap and also look for any possible hoses that may have popped off.
  14. Thanks John! Should have just given you a buzz anyway! I'll fit this this afternoon. Be interesting to see if I notice any difference in powerband with the new chip before upping the boost. :)
  15. Nope nothing I'm afraid. Really nice socket though, not a simple push-in-pull-out-bend-the-pins type affair. The chip terminals just sit in the holes and then the handle locks them out to the base. :)
  16. Yup, that's it. BUT with UK glass to match the colour better than the bronze of the JDM glass.
  17. See below. Just wanting to confirm that the key on the chip faces to the red dot on this socket.
  18. Mazda Atlantic blue. It's metallic not pearl like Bayside blue and it's lighter.
  19. Nope, not having a black car. I like black Z32s, but would never want mine black. I have a black Seat leon and I detest keeping it spotless. Black isn't 'bright' either. Want something eye catching without being garish. So a light and bright OEM type colour is always one I've wanted.
  20. Well, as days go by, I am seriously thinking about putting some money aside for an eventual colour change. Most likely a Nissan colour. I like the KH6 pearl white a lot. Glows nicely in the sun. BUT, the longer I keep it, the more I fancy a change. I want something a little more crisp and/or vivid. Body will have some very minor changes. 99-spec front bumper being the main one. The rest will be as-was except with the addition of UK spec glass. ....and, shock horror, maybe some side skirts. I only really like a few. Kaminari and Stillen being the main two. Now.....this might sound odd as I can't stand the wings west kit for the Z. It's nearly as ugly as the Veilside stuff.....BUT, I've always wanted to mod their skirts to get rid of that awful and pointless little vent in the side. The skirts themselves (minus the vent) are actually quite nice and sit just below the swage line. Mate that with a 99-front and it would work well. The 99 front has a different angle than the stock bumper on the dropsides and sits flatter on the sides than the original bumper. Because of that, the contour of the sill sections aren't quite as much of a match as they could be. So, Wings west skirts without the fieldmouse vent would work well IMO. I did a little edit.... The colours....well....of course, Bayside blue... Or possibly the super white pearl of the new 370Z (which I think is called Glacia pearl white). I like the Lexus pearl more, but want to keep the colours Nissan.
