  1. Then don't mention the ruddy headlights!
  2. Don't chrome the headlights...well, I personally wouldn't Think it looks a little cheesey. Go for what car.mad and dazvert are doing and then get new roof trims. Will look really nice IMO.
  3. I generally don't like colours on various interior panels, but piano black is slick and modern looking. If you get a really classy head unit...that's also like a piano black, then it'll look very good IMO. Alpine head units use a shiney black plastic. Mount it flush and i think it'll look great.
  4. So clean and crisp Gary!! Looking very slick. You going to get new windscreen trim?
  5. ...wheels are stunning though. Shame the centres are gold.
  6. Daz, what colour are you going to do the centre consol in? Normal satin/plastic look or are you going for like a Piano black or something?
  7. Get over it. It's not exactly a serious thread. Nice to see you getting personal though. Something I try never to do.
  8. Well, that depends on how the car has been maintained. Mine has never broken down. But I've had to have work done on it. Buy from a forum member and the history is usually good and you can check to see how they've been maintained. Maintain them well and if you're upping the power, do the modifications to a good standard and the cars will be great! Do them on a shoe string, and you'll encounter expensive problems. Generally if the car has been well looked after, you'll not have too many problems with it. Most of the 'good' cars on here are trouble free, but those are the ones that have had good levels of maintenance and also good quality supporting performance modifications.
  9. Well, to give you an idea. The 1600 quid you spent on your entire R5 would probably 'Just' about buy you a set of decent uprated turbos. Engine builds can be done for cheap if you do it yourself. But parts are pricey. OEM head set runs you over 300, 120k service kit, I think is around the 600 mark.
  10. Woah! That's shocking! That must have had some serious damage to it to have had to have had a new lip grafted on! Christ on a bike!
  11. People are very helpful on here. Lots of information can be had and pairs of hands to assist, but you have to understand that these cars cost big bucks to modify to a reasonable standard and if you want to go mad, there's people here who've spend 10s of thousands on engine mods alone.
  12. Hope he didn't use too much silicone. ;)
  13. They are cheap to buy, but certainly not to maintain and run. Sure, if you can do the work yourself, you shave off a whole bunch of money, but the parts are anything but cheap.
  14. LOL, who told you that? This thread is so full of fail!
  15. Cool. Progress moving well then! Hope to see you next weekend too for the final push! Mr.F given you any indication on whether he can get the mounts, dowels and bushes this week?
  16. Well done Martin! You having your PAS pipes made tomorrow?
  17. I think he should keep silversteak looking 'modified'....but there are much nicer bits for the body that would be far more pleasing to the eye. Rear bumper replaced by a Kaminari item. Sides, replaced by Stillen ones (or fill in the field-mouse-vents in the current ones)....front replaced with an ABFlug bumper....and also a smooth nose panel. :)
  18. Croque of shite. I can just about see the appeal in a rat-rod. This was spmething that originated from the salt flats of Nevada. Where the salt attacked the bodies of the cars. The mechanicals were still kept up together so they could race them across the dried up salt lakes. Still not my slice of pie. But when the VW scene got hold of it.....it went even further down hill. People actually going out of their way to make their cars look shit, sanding down bonnets, letting them go rusty and then lacquering them... bolting old roof racks to them with some old oil cans and some tatty old fly-tip suit cases strapped to them...Jesus wept! It's a silly fad that should end some day soon! Those two Golfs are absolutely pitiful. Complete turd.
  19. Nice collection. I do however think the yellow one is much much nicer looking. :) As much as I admire what the silver one actually is under all that fibreglass, I have never found the styling that attractive.
  20. Going back to stock look lamps on silverstreak? Good man!
