'End float' is how much lateral play there is in the bearing.

If it's not leaking, check for end float and general bearing condition by rotating and also the condition of the fins.

From what I 'hear' things still aren't that great. Also, they no longer operate out of a workshop, but I think they do their work on driveways. Not that there's anything wrong with this, but their reputation doesn't seem to have gotten the up. There are plenty of other places to go for tuning/engine builds and general servicing that have the reputation.

Only place to put gauges neatly are to have DIN mounted ones. Keeps the dash free from clutter. Nothing worse than having stuff all over the place. Eyesore.

No, he never taught English! :p Actually, tell a lie, when he finished university, he went off to Portugal to live and taught English as a foreign language. He was actually there during the Portuguese revolution in '74. Was set to be a very wealthy man. He and a friend of his from Coimbra university had written a text book for the Portuguese education system that was due to be rolled out across the entire country. 2 months before it was due to go to print, the military led coup over threw (peacefully) the regime that was then in power. The books instantly became out of date and never went into circulation.

Was it a school for disadvantaged children? Completely the opposite ends of the spectrum, but just as important. My father retired about 5 years ago. He's a historian and translator now. Also does some charity work for the blind.

My father taught at Millfield. Was head of Latin, but also taught French, Portuguese and Classics. I believe she actually got expelled! I know that Pierce Brosnan's son got booted out. He taught all sorts of people from Prince of Jordan's son through to President Jiang Zemin of China's grand son. The Beckham's were going to send their children there I believe.

If you think it's the idle control valve, then take it off and clean it. These gum up and a good flush out with carb cleaner clears them. But remember to drop a few drips of oil down there. If it's not this, then hook it up to ConZult and have a look at your TPS readings and see what voltage they are sat on. Maybe that which needs some adjustment. Finally, look at your base idle and see what it's set to.

I think they look very much at home on a Z. These are only 18s and they look good. If I go a size up, they'll look a bit more imposing without looking too large. This is the overall look I want for my Z as well. Slightly larger...too big for a SWB, but perfect size for a 2+2

I've always liked them. Along with HRE 540R (even rarer than BBS LM) and Work VSX-X...which are only available with a max of 18". I do ummm and arrr about keeping it, but that's only if something went wrong financially in my life. I have no reason to sell right now and the only thing I'd replace it with would be an NSX or Ferrari 348. But happy at the moment. I have money to tinker with the Z and also to do loads of other stuff. Something I'd not be able to do if I bought either of these two. There's so much I want to do with mine....slowly coming round to the idea that I want to change it all....not drastically. Just in the detail. So this is why I am going to get it repainted at the end of the year with some small touches, ie UK glass, 99 front end and the new wheels.

My rears are 9.5" wide. 275 tyre width. Gives it a flat tyre wall and makes the whole thing very flush with the body.

I wouldn't have red centre caps. I like to keep colours to a minimum, so would only have black ones. MUCH easier on the eye. :)
