Hubcentric Spacers
It's unlikely. Most, if not all spacers will be made of machined billet. They would have cracked around the stud holes before those studs would have sheered if they'd been cast.

No, not the X axis! Can't say I've ever come across cast spacers before.

Not entirely sure on what you mean here. Pics don't lie and they show the result of impact stress on a hub flange. Impact stress that can only be caused by vertical movement on the Y axis. This movement can only be caused by lose wheel nuts and/or no spigot ring. It's not because they are 'cheap crap'. :)

Hubcentric Spacers
Regular checking is essential. They can work loose and sometimes quickly. First few hundred miles I will always check my wheel nuts every long trip I make either on my DD or my Z. If there were metal filings. Your nuts are likely to have worked lose. Those filings would have been from where the stud would have worn the stud-hole on the wheel. Either way, that damage is due to lose wheel nuts or non-fitting of a spigot ring.

Hub flanges do not just 'break off'. There is a reason they do sheer or tear off like that and that would be incorrect fitting. With the spigot correctly mounted and the wheel studs torqued to the correct setting, there would be no impact stress across that flange to cause the damage you see here.

H&R or Eibach, but please read what Andrew and I have written.

Hubcentric Spacers
How did you come to that conclusion? They could be H&R or Eibach. I can see what's likely to have happened here; it looks likely that a spigot ring wasn't fitted to the wheel before mounting. This has subsequently damaged the flange as the wheel is forced in all sorts of directions which looks like it's been torn off, that force has then sheared the studs. They could be 'cheap made crap', but for 4 studs to sheer off like that with the amount of damage to the hub flange, it's highly probable that it was something unrelated to the spacers.

Studs only really shear when there's undue vertical stresses put on them, ie, lose wheel nuts, no spigot rings etc allowing the wheel to move on the hub face.

Looks like a case of 'no spigot rings' judging by the lack of flange on the hub.

I've managed to bring it forward a day! I was due to collect the car on the 18th which is the Friday, but I have things I need to do. Managed to get it so it'll be ready to collect on the Thursday giving me 2 full evenings which 'should' be enough.

Finally getting painted
Finally! Did you say you were going to chisel out the lights? Can't remember, but I am sure I remember you making a comment about them.

Buying advice
Don't discount JDM models either. When I was looking for a Z32 10 years ago, the amount of rotten UK cars scared the bejesus out of me. Good UK cars are few and far between and generally owners hang on to them for that reason! Plenty of tatty and rusty JDM cars about now though. But I wouldn't discount them at all. At the end of the day, if the car is solid, sound, well looked after and hasn't had half a boat grafted onto it, then it's a goer regardless of origin of market.

Refit the recircs, you know it makes sense. :)

Tax disc holder
Why? Because everything is electronic now and it's an antiquated and outdated document that is no longer required. The whole system is being overhauled and you'll be able to pay monthly via DD. Comes into effect in October. :)

The bay will get paint at some point mate, but likely when the engine next comes out. As for what I am having done, that's a little secret. No one will likely notice, but it's a big job! :)
