My old wheels were 8.5 and 9.5 with a 245 and a 275 - Both tyre walls were dead flat, no nasty stretch and they looked both the same. - - - Updated - - - ....lovely wheels by the way!

It is very tuneable, but the VG30DETT will always produce the higher torque value mod-for-mod. The VG is not the lump of chocolate that people seem to 'think' it is. It's an extremely strong engine, in fact the block itself is stronger than the RB.Internals and block are different things.
