  1. I'd compared wheelman's car to the citrine yellow UK car merely stating that wheelman's car is the correct pearl yellow, not the citrine yellow as shown on the different UK car......quite easy to understand really. ;)
  2. I only posted his up as a comparison shot. :) His is a JDM car.
  3. Huh? I'm not talking about wheelman's car!! I'm talking about the repainted yellow one!!
  4. Not really. When the car was repainted, by law you should notify the DVLA and have that changed on the V5. This information is lifted straight from that.
  5. Probably sound really draining on a long run......
  6. ...according to Nissan FAST, the only pearl yellow available was EH7.
  7. Cost saving. It wasn't a legal requirement on European vehicles to have a 3rd brake light.
  8. You sure about that? I'm 90% sure the paint codes are the same. - - - Updated - - - No it isn't. UK cars came with body-colour blanks.
  9. It's an 'orrible yellow actually. Makes the car looks really cheap. The original pearl yellow is a stunning colour IMO.
  10. Wheelman's old car. Yes, the UK colour code is the same as the JDM one. There's absolutely no way these two are the same even with the worst camera in the world. It wouldn't even have been a repainted yellow car. It looks like Ford's 'citrine yellow' that you could get the Mondeo painted in in the mid-90s.
  11. There's no way that's the original colour. Pearl yellow is completely different and it was only available in 1990 on UK cars, this is a 1992.
  12. Themses Romanian folks wantin' they gearboxes!
  13. Increase the rev limit and up the power. It takes an exponential amount of power the higher top speed you require and it will take quite a lot more power to gain those higher top speeds than you'd think.
  14. Stock car will do around 175 with the limiter removed given enough distance. Over the course of a mile, it would probably pull 130/140
  15. ......also bear in mind that this was only over the course of a mile. It goes much faster over a longer strip.
  16. Aerodynamics are not the issue. The gear ratios, rev limit and torque are. Ray's hit 197mph (clocked). It is set up as a drag car though, not a top speeder, although as the car evolves, his ideas and use change. You should be able to achieve 200mph with a strong engine that can rev much higher, some more power and a different final drive.
  17. This is my friend Ray's car. Ray lives in Crete, Nebraska. Its eaten a number of drive shafts. I've driven it too - it's immense. Fortunately, it has a Quaife differential and it handles the power well. Quite a lot of turbo lag through regular driving as it's built purely as a drag car. You'd have thought it would have been terrifying to drive, but it's so well set up Ray's aim is 200mph
  18. WRONG!!!! Again! Your car has been in the country for eons - it'll have been changed. JDM cars ALL had 'Z' nose panels, all of them. The rest of the world had hamburger logos albeit 90 model-year US cars which had no nose badge whatsoever.
  19. Check the V5, it'll usually give you a clue in the vehicle description. UK cars I believe should just be 'Nissan 300zx'. JDM cars come listed as all sorts of things. VIN number should also, however I'm not able to tell. AndrewG would. There are other tell-tale signs such as lighting configuration (front), interior trim, glass type and t-top inner design. UK cars don't have electric fold-in mirrors etc.
  20. Almost - the 95-97 models didn't believe in a boost gauge though!

  22. Can't recall what's inside the sump baffles. I know that there's sealant inside the rocker covers that the acid would dissolve. If this is the same deal in the sump, then I'd keep it away from acid baths. Best solution is soda blasting.
  23. Welcome! Looking forward to seeing the restoration posts! :) Nice seeing them getting saved. We've had a few good ones done recently. First thing you should do though is rip off those universal wing mirrors and then destroy them with either nuclear armaments or eject them into Saturn's upper ionosphere. :D
  24. ....easiest way to tell is to get some white paper behind the windscreen and t-tops and see what colour it is. Should all be blue on Euro models.
  25. Blue tint on ALL UK/Euro models - however some Euro models were available with a tan-leather interior, generally found on white cars. They could have had bronze tint, but can't confirm. Bronze tint on JDM models until 1994 with exception of Sapphire blue models which had blue tint as standard Blue tint on all JDM models from 1994 (late) until late 1997 Green tint on all JDM models from late 1997 - end of production. All cars should have the same tint all round. Sometimes the colour of the sunband changed, but that's it. What colour is your car and is it a Euro-specification vehicle? Some US models have found their way to continental shores.
