  1. No, the centres were done in a very high power silver. They do glow. Due to the mesh design on mine, it would have cost a fortune to get them polished. I considered it though. If yours are a 5 spoke then it'll be a lot cheaper. Because yours aren't split rims either, I'd imagine that it wouldn't cost more than about £80 - £100 per wheel at the very max.
  2. Take it easy Si? Have you seen the way I usually drive the thing? I rarely have it out of vacumme!!
  3. Cheers Si. Yeah, would like to think that I'll make JAE. The car will be back with me later today I hope all being well.
  4. No, mine just have a little bit of play in them. The HICAS system works perfectly otherwise. No, this is the story with my zed and engines. I have not fitted another. The engine that was in my Zed self distructed as previous to my ownership, it had a waste gate actuator unplugged. Whilst the engine was initially a decent unit, it quickly wore due to excessive heat generated by a turbo that was running unlimited boost. When stripped down, the block was found to be in a terrible state and past the point of not return. Luckily...or rather unluckily, I had a spare rebuildable engine. I'd bought an engine from a guy that uses the forum who garunteed it as 100% running. We did a compression test on this after purchase and found that 1/2 the cylinders to have almost no compression. On closer unspection, found that one of the heads had not been torqued to the block and that a headgasked had a hole in it the size of a 10p peice. So no way would this engine have even fired up, let alone ran!!!!!!!!!! So, I'd been sold a 5hitter. BUT, luckily, the block was pretty good and just needed the very lightest of honing. Crank and shells were in as-new condition. Bores were also unscored. All was measured and found to be spot on. So all the pistons bar one were fitted with new rings, had a spare piston as one was damaged. Replaced all the shells and mains. Reused my old heads which were refaced/cleaned and had all the valves lapped back in. So should have near-perfect compression.
  5. Cheers guys! I'm kinda excitied. Not driven it yet. Not seen it. Apparently it's very very smooth too. Would be nice to have a summer without problems. Still a few other bits to sort out on the car. The dreaded subframe bushes need replacing as well as the HICAS arms. It'll be almost perfect when that's been done though.
  6. Sassy is watching his every move though, once he steps out of line, he'll be ousted as well! Totally agree with greg too.
  7. It's back! Well, not quite, but it's running (full engine rebuild). Just a few little issues to sort out and it'll be all mine again.
  8. Don't think that's any sort of an issue what so ever.
  9. It did used to be really good. A certain Andy M and Matt S need to be fed their own bo11ocks really. I was seeing a girl who used to use that forum. He started stirring up all sorts and we had a massive fall out. Seems everything he said was just because he had the hots for her and wanted to make a fool of us. Sorry for thread hijack.
  10. Vacumme leak maybe?
  11. That VXON Mark? Some real problems been kicking off on there.
  12. Sorry, email..dunno where I got the idea of a piccie. Name and shame...put up the email addy...someone on here will know who it is I'm sure.
  13. What was the piccie?
  14. If the alloys is of good quality then yes, you'll be able to get a mirror effect finish. Azev are pretty good rims, so would imagine it would be possible. A lot of the top quality wheels like Rays/Volk, Advan and some BBS rims use aircraft grade alloy, which is almost as pure as you can get and these are the materials that respond best to polishing. These are the rims I got for my Zed. As you can see, they've been badly curbed/lost their shine. After being stripped and polished. I got mine done by a chap up in Nottingham. Bit of a trek for me, but well worth it and he's very reasonable too.
  15. Liking them both, but that is lovely. :)
  16. I've seen compression at 10PSi.....that was out of the engine in my Zed. That was a combination of a melted piston and chronic coking up of the valves due to oil blow back. The f****d one I bought from gixxar had some cyclinders down at 50PSi. That was due to a headgasket and the fact that one of the heads wasn't even torqued down. Gutted for you though.
  17. That's terrible. Difficult to know what to do in situations like that. Rationality would tell you to get involved. In reality, it can seem so different. I've been walking back from places late at night when I was at university in Southampton and I've seen a large group of thugs beating up a defenseless student. As inhumane as it sounds, I did not try and break it up. If there were enough people there to get involved to safely break it up as was in the report, then it would have been the thing to do.

Any pics....? Hope you're ok mate.
  19. Yeah, those giant BIC razor blades are fookin awful. I've seen one on a Zed that's on par with it. It's a huge one, bit like the hi-line ones, but it has a huge bend in the middle of it. As if it's melted and someone's picked it up from the middle. Fookin awful that one. Is it an 'imola' spoiler? He'll be lucky to get £2k for that.
  20. Christ it must be tiny if you have to ask about it! :mac1: ;)
  21. I'll photocopy my Z keyring and fax it to you...;)
  22. Well, that is why I bought the car. Don't see all the 911 boys putting silly doors on their cars. ;)
  23. Got mine today as well. Must say I'm impressed. Was expecting a welcome note, a sticker and a membership card. Got quite a bit more. Well done chaps. :D
  24. I'd sooner sell my soul to the devil. Look ridiculous.
