  1. I'm sure Jeff diagnosed this for someone not long back?? Sounds exactly the same. Or I may have been dreaming
  2. Well there wasnt a figure in which we could agree on. The damage definatly wasnt as bad as i thought so the zed is going to live on and be repaired with what looks like a whole new rear end  ill be having a custome spoiler off carmad and they are going to paint it for me when they do my car. TIDYYYYYY! Ill then be toying with selling or keeping it. But either way the zed will go on!
  3. agreed that's a hell of an eye!! Beautiful zed too! I'm possibly booking a holiday the land of aus next year
  4. My advice, keep your engine and get the heads skimmed. It could happen to you again on a donor engine and the cambelt kit on top of that will be a nasty bill. Once you've done your head, and the belts have only just been done a few K's ago as you say, then you have a nice healthy engine. Get yours fixed. Do not swap :)
  5. My thoughts exactly. Hoping they will give me a figure tomorrow :) I've been on the receiving end of an insurance claim and got hammered. I over pay for my insurance anyway being only 21. It's my turn to get something in return so I won't be accepting any old offer. It has to be right otherwise ill do as you've said and make them repair the damages
  6. Who with ? I'm with admiral and found them a decent price. And my car has been hit so I can also reccomend their claims team and customer service as awesome to be honest. I'll happily pay a little more to stick with them next year
  7. Wow it's real http://www.thedrum.com/stuff/2013/11/14/jean-claude-van-damme-does-splits-between-two-volvo-trucks-latest-ad-stunt-campaign He can do the splits that's the easy part for him. The whole looking like he's as cool as ice is another thing. BUT the mad thing for me is the lorry drivers. They're awesome!! That must have taken some bottle
  8. I will be very surprised and amazed. If it's real then I have a new found respect for van damme. I hope it's real but I can't see it
  9. Yeah which is actually a good thing for me because the majority of the cars advertised on the net aren't exactly cheap. Well anyway they insurance company have called me and given me another option which I've never heard of before. If we can agree on how much it will approximately cost to repair the vehicle (for me) they will just wire me the cash and let me do it as and when, with no proof of the work being done required. I'm going to ask for £1500. That way I can repair the car and it won't be a CAT C write off. But if I don't get the £1500 then it will be an insurance jobby unfortunately. The other option was sending out an inspector who specialises in rare cars and checking the condition of my vehicle and then determining a fair price, which I do not want to do at all. Will keep you all informed :)
  10. Well that's the insurance company informed. Turns out we are both with the same company so I have a question. If they do write it off, how am I able to get as much as possible for the car. If he was insured with someone else I'd be guessing it would be easier to 'barter' for a higher payout. As I'm now going to be arguing with my own company on the value of my own car. They're calling me back tonight with some more Information and what I'll need to do.
  11. Be more cost effective buying a LHD and having it imported in my opinion.
  12. Cheers Richard everyone has been so so helpful. What a cracking bunch of people on this forum! Ruishy I have replied on the other thread :) Medallion man thanks that was a good read and will be very helpful when I battle it out with the insurance company, which is inevitable IMHO as I can't see him giving me a grand or more in cash, then paying for a hire car and insurance etc etc the list goes on and on
  13. Hi guys cheers for the responses, I've had time to think and I'll be letting him know the approximate costs of the work to be carried out. What I think is going to happen will be calling the insurance and having the payout on the car, then buy it back and either repair or brake it. I have to use my head and do it in such a way I can gain the most amount of money, due to the terrible few months I've had financially. I'll keep you all informed on how it pans out. Ruishy1 you are absolutely right and I can insist on making them pay for the car to be in a condition pre accident. It's so etching I'll have to think about.
  14. Ahhh just the man, was going to pm you but didn't see you online, I think the cost is going to be really high to be honest. I also don't fancy travelling all the way to Nottingham just for a quote. So any guestimations will be fine, as ill do a couple of trips to local body shops aswel. Many thanks
  15. Cheers mark, was expecting that to be honest, you should see his car it's a bloody joke. Sod all damage just a bit of a nick right under the bumper and the rear lip as come away slightly. Thanks for the reply though.
  16. Here's the damage from earlier, I must insist no mention of my cars value is NOT to be mentioned in an open forum for insurance purposes. Thanks. So that being said how much do we think this lot will cost. The rear panel is fubar! The metal panel below is huge and goes all the way round to the doors so that's un replaceable the rear bumper is also a bit of a mess and isn't straight anymore.
  17. I know dave, it's just one of those things. I will be asking more than I paid. Also will be sending you a pm shortly :)
  18. He hasn't told insurance yet will have a word when he finished work and see what we are going to do. I have legal cover anyway :)
  19. Cheers Gary no the zed is outside still, the bloke hit the car at 9am and set the alarm off, he came and knocked the door and spoke the the mrs, I was still asleep after a late night. He told here there was no damage but if I find any to go and give him a knock after he's finished work. No damage my arse. And yes daffy it's the same on as I've got advertised. I've got normal excess to pay and probably a young drivers excess too. With the trouble I have had these last few months this is the last thing I need
  20. Good question can't remember. But it wont be my insurance oaying out it will be his so its up to me and them to come to an agreed valuation
  21. Cheers lexx. Good advice  and no tom I really am having a crappy year
  22. I am 90% certain it will be. Ive taken some photos but im on my ohone and photobucket is really slow. Ill get them up later. I will go and have another look when ive calmed down a bit and see if its as bad as I first thought. But the one panel is huge. Its bither the rear quaters and the strip under the lights and its all 1 big peice if that makes sense
