r33 skyline calipers are a straight change r34 ones require mounting holes drilling out, but not really a hard job. r32 ones are no improvement so don't bother Not sure if they fit under 17s I've got 18s

Yeah, thats what I'm considering now. I only really had a go at getting it because it was such a steal I wasn't even considering selling mine until then. Going to leave mine far sale for the moment while I consider my options. Need to give it some lovin though to make it feel better!

Rear skyline calipers are the same as 300 ones. Straight fit but as smithy says not much point unless your zed ones are shot.

Well, finally managed to settle down after a bit of a long and not particularly productive day. Four days ago I was more than happy but then got taken over by 'mods eyes' whilst looking at the white zed on ebay. I was going to go up yesterday but the owner wasn't about so went up today , quietly hoping I'd win the auction and drive back in it. It was certainly one hell of a zed. So much money and engineering gone into it. To be honest though the extra 100 odd bhp didn't feel a huge amount faster than my zed, but you could certainly feel how much work the engine had had. It was missing a bit though and running a little rough so maybe that was why. My car, despite having 400odd bhp at the crank is still very civilised and enjoyable to drive but the whole experience of being in this car was completely different though: the roll cage, the point racing harness and seats, and the NOISE was like a bloody race car. It really makes a difference having it all stripped out on top of the engine work. I think you'd get a bit sick of it if you had to do anything practical in it but it would make a great track car. I do want to get a little more extreme with them. It was interesting talking to the owner about why he was getting rid. He had his eye on a vauxhaul vxr(?)220. He said that no matter how many tens of thousands he put into the zed, the vxr220 would still corner quicker and drive better. A fair point I suppose as they are like little go-karts, as per the lotus elise. I personally like having the grunt of the Zed myself. I've been looking at what the alternatives are now that I havn't got this one and it really is amazing how much value for money a zed is. I mean 540bhp for 8.6k!!!!! the guy had 25k odd of receipts there. You can't get much more than a slightly tuned skyline or rx7 or whatever for that money. Maybe another bargain will come along, havn't seen one like that in the time I've been on here though. Dave

The guy who built the zed I looked at today said he was going to do the targas but it wasn't practical in the end, end he was spending big bucks as well. He ended up doing a very impressive full roll cage (from safety devices but fitted by his garage). Dave

Lol Jon, yeah fair one mate, trying to decide what to do now. The plan was to spend up to about 8.5k on the new zed and then sell mine for 6k so really I would have only spent 2.5k to get some very extreme mods. If you add up all those extra mods its probably another 10-20k on mine, and mines already had well over 10k spent on it! Its that magical 450bhp barrier that costs so much to pass over. I figure I'd rather do it cheaper by buying a car thats already had it done. Not really into shelling out 20k of my own for someone else to build a car for me anyhow. It would be different if I was building it with my own hands. Dave

Right who the feck was it?!! A customer of ztech who has a SWB, blew the engine when picking the car up from southampton docks. Also has a skyline and possibly an american??? Anyhow, I went up to look at the car, took a chance that I might be able to drive back in it but lost the auction. I would've payed 10k if I had it I reckon. A pretty extreme Zed. It was missing a bit though, a bit rough. The owner thought maybe it had gassed a cylinder/ wet plug form short journeys and shit petrol today while on way to shell garage and valet. He did seem a genuine guy. I offerred him more money after the auction had finished ( I tried to bid more but it finished before my super slow mobile phone connection connected to ebay) but he wouldn't except it as he had promised the other guy. Anyhow who knows how high he would have gone. I tried contacting greg and ryan to see who it was, and maybe save one of us some cash but didn't get any answer. It had everything it said on the ebay advert and some. He ran a load of dealerships and had mechanics and bodyshop people to do pretty much whatever he wanted to it. All the receipts were there for the work. Its not the sort of zed you go to the shops in though, would be ideal as just a hardcore track car. He was saying how he got stuck in traffic one day and melted his trainer from the heat of the turbos! Anyhow bit gutted I didn't get it but now I've got 9k burning a hole so might as well treat the zed. I don't think I could get any other car that would match my zed for that money. I'd like to give an rx7 or a skyline a go but I'd have to spend to much money to match the power of my current zed, and I don't want to drop in power. Right need some new tyres for the Jtuner thrash! and get my nose re-sprayed Dave

My old zed was an auto with new bridgestones and the back end was always going sideways for some reason. My new one is manual with Pirellis and is rock solid for some reason, maybe its just because I'm more careful knowing theres 340bhp at the wheels with this one, but I'm sure it doesn't let loose as easy as the other one.
