  1. Lol, you looked dodgier than deepcut in that thread matey! Lol, still your car looks lovely, you might as well keep it seeing as you got the baby seat in. Dave edit - No ones having a go but since you have/did have your car for sale you should just tell everyone what the score is. The whole idea of a club is to give people some security when buying/selling from each other. Fluctuating dates, prices and not answering queries don't exactly deliver confidence! It looks like a great car anyhow. I'm glad you've decided to stay and hope the kiddie is coming on well.
  2. I got some south american wooly boot slippers! They rule haha

Mines pretty nippy too, touch shiny alloy and all! dynoed 340 at the rear wheels + 340 lb torque. Might put my water sucking HKS filter back on for it though because I don't think it goes as fast with a single apexi.Dave
  5. From the national events section as its shortnotice and might get missed. Lets get some good cars there. Remember to reply in the national events section and not this thread. Jtuner Magazine thrash invite Hi, As you can see from my username I work for Jtuner magazine, hopefully you’ll be aware of the magazine by now and the ‘thrash’ type feature we run each month. For those of you who haven’t seen it, we get eight owners together for a fourteen-page feature in the magazine highlighting the tuning potential of a certain model. So we’d like to get eight of you to come to Bruntingthorpe proving ground in Leicestershire for a day with the timing gear and a two-mile straight… First thing to say is that it’s a no stress day out, we attach Datron satellite activated timing gear to the car and you have four attempts at getting times you’re happy with from a standing start, these are in succession and there isn’t time to swap gear between cars and runs I’m afraid. It’s up to you how hard or easy you want to take it, we record 0-60, 0-100, ¼ mile with terminal speed and top speed. The main emphasis of the day is to show you the owners and your cars in a positive way, encouraging non-owners to read and learn more about your chosen Japanese motor. So, here’s the deal. *Aside from any travel expenses you might incur the day is completely free for you. We pay for the track and timing gear. *We are strictly limited to one car on track at any time and eight cars on track in a holding area plus our own. So no spectator cars, support vehicles etc. No exceptions. *We deliberately book these days with short notice so people don’t build or modify cars especially for the day, sorry if that doesn’t fit in with you personal circumstances but there will be further opportunities in the future. *Bruntingthorpe has a strict noise policy in place, with an 89Db limit at 4000rpm. If you have a very noisy exhaust it may be worth doing something about it before coming. We have had 600-800bhp turbocharged cars go through okay, so it’s not as strict as you may think. *We will be on track all day, 9.30am start, there is a café and toilet located at the other end of the track, but this is two miles away. So come prepared with food and drink. *It might sound stupid, but you will do upwards of 17miles on track, so make sure you’ve got enough fuel, including getting to the nearest petrol station when leaving (it’s ten miles to some Optimax) Right, if any of that sounds appealing we’ve got a date, and it’s next week… Thursday the 15th. So what do you say? Anybody game for it? Eight cars would be great… Here’s a link to Bruntingthorpe’s website, so you know where you’re going. http://www.bruntingthorpe.com/ I hope this is of interest to you, we’ll all be there and look forward to meeting you. These days are our highpoint each month as they’re always good fun. Cheers, Bryn Bryn@Jtuner is offline Report Bad Post Rides Reply With Quote

  11. Mine 'looked' fine as well Si, I'm sure its a standard thing amongst engine re-builders that they change the shells whatever??? maybe I'm wrong?
  12. Eek, get better soon matey!
  13. Hob Nobs - The Royal Marine of the biscuit world. you can keep dunking them and they still come up for more!
  14. Work politics are great. Should make a publishable thread. You might make millions?
  15. Si good news that its all happening mate but please ,please ,please replace the shells!! I'm pretty sure the fact that I didn't replace the shells was the reason my first zed died after I rebuilt the engine. They were the only thing I didn't replace (stupid I know, but they looked fine, I didn't know better , and I was pressured for time). Dave
  16. Happy Birthday Dave! Have a good day. Dave
  17. Body armour and helmet! Oh the pleasant memories!!
  18. OMG Thats some amount of work, and they do a pretty amazing job to. Can't say I'd want to do it but nuff respect! I'm going to have an NSX.Dave
  19. Got any pictures Jason? I never knew you could get kits like that for them. I suppose it was one of the aims: to make a ferrari for jap car money.
  20. Well said Marc!
  21. Bloody hell, can't you get a second hand one or something from on here?
  22. As long as you can actually do it mate you'll be fine one way or another. Just get up to date, and keep in the big books. I got my Network Engineer job with no real commercial experience. I'd done deployed networks in the Marines but never actually did any proper switch/router config day to day. I just spent about a year before coming out doing my CCNA and MCSA to make sure I had the theoretical knowledge. The big world is a whole different place to the theory of the books, but my employer knows the score. I have to do a hell of a lot of work in my own time (getting through my CCNP) but they get a good deal as I'm pretty much doing the work of a CCNP level engineer but for the wage of a more junior engineer. Its worth it for me as I get the commercial experience . When I went to the interview I did well as I passed all the technical bit at a much higer level than I was at, plus I made it clear I'd be doing as much extra work as I could to make the most of the exposure to the technologies and to go up in the industry as soon as possible. They knew I wasn't experienced but as I proved I'd done my homework they were willing to give me a chance. Many other people didn't make the job who had commercial experience, but couldn't answer the technical questions. All you have to do is learn your stuff and prove to the interviewer that you'll go that extra step to be good at the job. All going well I'll be fast-tracking my way to a higher level very quickly, although I've certainly put the hours in learning the job. Dave
  23. "A group of around 20 Asian men gathered outside the gates of the Royal London Hospital to protest at what they believed was heavy-handed treatment by the police in the raid." Bloody right too, I wouldn't have been fecking around if I was a copper having to do that job.
