  1. Might be a silly question but where are you filling it? you need to fill from the radiator cap and then open the bleed valve at the other side to bleed the air out.
  2. That looks really nice mate, like it a lot.Dave
  3. Some of the traders will prob give a more accurate price but mentally put aside a couple of K is a good bet.
  4. N/a fuel consumption isnt all that different to a TT. Nor is the insurance. Still very nice cars as the NA owners will confirm, but don't have the power of a TT. You have got the advantage of no turbos to die though. Try to avoid going for a bargain basement TT or NA though if you don't want to spend any money on sorting it as they are old now and if it hasn't already been refreshed/rebuilt it will probably need it soon. Dave
  5. Well I planned on being there but was too late by the time I picked the car up. Sorry Jack. Dave
  6. WTF?! I'm in shock. would be handy for surfboards though. Dave
  7. Yeah likewise, they don't like standing much. Agree with fairladyzgirl on the economy thing though. I use mine 3-4 times a week for a 50mile round trip and I put about £50 in a week. Also 1 set front tyres a year and two sets of rear so prob about £500-600 in tyres a year. He is doing very short trips though which isn't too good for the engine, hardly warms up in 6miles. Dave
  8. I'm jealous, I want mine too!
  9. I'm there, probably with a zed and an rx7!
  10. cool, sorted. Thanks mate, you just made me some money!
  11. Yep, agree with Si on that one. Although the idea is quite cool the actual implementation is pretty arse. You have to open the doors out as normal before they go up (due to door/body shape), so no point, plus they are often heavy as hell anyhow. They arn't functional ,just for looks. Maybe if they went directly up with a nice light action it would be good. Dave
  12. Thought I posted earlier on this but couldn't have pressed enter!: No problems at all with Mr Boomin, I spoke to him at length after the auction and I'm more than happy with the situation and he's a very nice bloke. I'm actually off to pick up a rather tasty Rx7 later so things are good. Have insured the zed and the rx7 so not defecting from zed ownership; :). I'm looking forward to seeing the white zed at a meet and chatting to Boomin. Dave
  13. I have! :) People don't seem to agree with me but I've got a HKS mushroom, a blitz sus (sold on but wish i hadn't ) and an apexi. The HKS mushroom lets me make my normal boost, as does the blitz, but the apexi seems to strangle it a little and I get just under 12 psi instead of 13.8. As soon as I put the HKS back I get full boost again. I know the apexi is supposed to flow just as good blah blah and all that but I can swap them around and show it straight away. The apexi is tiny as well so kind of makes sense?? The mushroom is a nightmare for rain though, and I've also done a MAF with the blitz but that could have been a shit MAF that I was sold. I want to try the twin apexi route, do you still sell the y pipes smithy? Dave
  14. What cars have the alloy calipers? Selling my old calipers but not sure which ones they are and I'm not at home just now. They are from a 93 jap spec.Dave
  15. Just remembered something else Chris: When the MAF burnt out with the HKS filter I had a blitz sus for about a month and this was as good as the HKS , full boost, etc. I then got the apexi because I was worried that the blitz wouldn't be good in the rain. I'd say thats pretty conclusive? The HKS and the Blitz Sus both gave full boost whereas the apexi doesn't. When I remove the apexi and stick on the HKS again I get full boost again. Dave
  16. Wish I'd kept my Blitz Sus. It worked as well as my HKS in terms of flow. The apexi is the only one that (IMO) doesn't. I did have a MAF die with the blitz sus though but i'm 50/50 whether that was from the filter or an already half broken MAF that I got second hand. Dave
  17. Think it is the driver mate (unless the cars are ropey which neither of ours are!). Look at slick pete with an NA: he got better times than my high power TT! Quite an art to launching from zero I guess.
  18. Funny isn't it? I was curious if there might be any other reasons that people knew of. I quite like being able to experiment though, especially when I can see very obvious changes. I'll put the apexi back on at some point and see what the readings come out at. Dave

Whats your email mate? I've got some vids that alicia took and a few photos. They are very poor quality vids though, on mobile phone but might be useful for peoples avators or something. Dave
  20. Thats bizarre! Its a very definate change. I get full boost with the HKS and not quite as much with the apexi. Its only a little less and although you can't feel it, its noticable on the boost gauge on the greddy. I'll probably put the apexi back on again now as I don't want to be caught in the rain with the HKS (I ran it for many months in bad rain through the winter but eventually the MAF went). Think I might put a twin apexi on there and see how that does. Dave

Can't wait to see the magazine pics. Has anyone else got any high quality pics? I think the sun was a little bright for our mobile phone pics.Dave
  22. I posted a little while back mentioning how I didn't think the apexi flowed as much air as the HKS mushroom filters. When I put the apexi on a few months back the car rarely boosted above 12psi. For the brunters thrash yesterday I fitted the HKS back on as the weather looked good so no rain problems. Straight away I boosted back up to 13.8 my normal amount. Are there any other reasons for this that anyone can think of or is it purely due to the filters ability to flow air, and the intake diameters, or is it also the limits of the air that the stock size turbos can flow? It would be nice to see what power was produced with bigger tubs as the engine is built for that, ported and forged internals and all. Dave edit - maybe this should be moved to the private tuning section?
  23. Theres a tourist lookout point nearby which has a carpark. I can't watch all the clip here but it does chainsaws as well!
  24. Who is it with mate? I really want to do a trip to Nurburgring as well.Dave
  25. Dom - Not sure if it fits a TT but if it does I'll buy the y-pipe off of you.
