  1. When the rear crank seal goes it drips oil out of the bell housing on the gearbox, It wouldn't come from the exhaust. There are a few things that can cause smoke so don't remortgage yet :) Pcv valves in particular.
  2. Done by direct bank transfer but I'm natwest so will probably take 3-5 working days. Any chance of upgrading me back to full member now as I need to buy some bits for the car from some of the for sale threads! Dave
  3. Glad you enjoyed it Jon :) Bit embarrassed that the pics are all people looking at the rex! I wish I had stopped on the hill road for some pics as the line of Zeds looked awesome coming around the hill in the sunset. We'll have to do it again sometime soon :). Wow300, Bristol ringroad is fun :)
  4. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/190557.htm Just saw this on Pistonheads, is it off of here?
  5. Can't remember his exact figure but he did really well. Very high torque as well. I'm sure he'll post the results soon enough.
  6. Sorry I didn't make it guys. We were baby sitting until just before midday and then I broke a a wire and fuse holder on my water injection. I didn't want to do a dyno without the water injection working. Took me a couple of hours to get a new fuse holder and get it soldered up after which it was too late to get to Plymouth.
  7. Sorry to knock the standards :D Must be embarrasing not being able to overtake a Skoda eh?........... Top meet everyone. I reckon its the best car meet I've been on. It really made my week down here in Cornwall. I'd go and drive the route again today if I didn't have a 5 1/2 hour drive back to Kent tonight! I had a huge grin on my face when i got home. I wished I'd stopped on the North Coast Road for some photos. The line of Zeds coming around the side of those big hill roads in the sunset was awesome. The route was everything I'd hoped it would be, even though it was slightly wet on the first leg of the journey. Such a good feeling when you go over the brow of a hill and you can see the next couple of miles of road stretching out across the hills and the misty sunset in the background
  8. DannyZX, there's a spare seat in my rex if you are interested?
  9. Looking good down here at the moment in Hayle. A few threatening rainclouds but its been dry and sunny all day so hopefully it will stay that way. :)
  10. I'm planning on coming up to Plymouth before the Lands end run. Are you going up from Helston Zogg? what time are you going? not sure if I'll get the answer as I'm on hols but my temporary number is 07920507424 if you want to try tonight or tomorrow morning.
  11. Sounds like a good idea meeting in the McDonalds at Hayle. I don't think we should touch St Ives at all. You don't need to go through St Ives , you just drive towards it and then turn off onto the coast road. We can head down towards Sennen/Lands End area and stop for a chinwag and then head back towards Penzance for some food. The pub at Lands End is an option for food if anyone is interested? There are plenty of places in Penzance though.
  12. You wont have any problems with the flooding. The Indian Queens area is usually a nightmare with traffic if you hit it during the day. I had a good blast down last week :) Weather seems to have cleared up a bit but not sure of the forecast at the mo. I'll have fun if its raining as I'm on semi-slicks ! The only routes down really are M4,M5,A30 or A303 turning onto M5 around the Taunton area and then down onto the A30. Don't go through the Plymouth route by the way, stay on the A30.
  13. There's a buyers guide on here mate. Apart from the specific things mentioned in there its like buying any car. If you go for a Zed at the lower end of the price range then you'll probably have to spend money to get it right. Whatever you do try to have a grand or so available for potential problems or just maintainance.
  14. Those phots are quality Si! My missus did the same thing with her Astra a few years back. We thought it was a ford and she drove straight in lol! it started floating and filled up with water. Bless her, she towed it home and took the engine apart. She turned it by hand with the plugs out and it spurt water way up into the sky! then dryed the sparkplugs etc on the wood burner :) Unbelievable it started working again!
  15. Be careful mate as I've been pulled by a couple of plain clothes jobs on the A30 near Hayle. Also after the big hill going away from Hayle near Indian Queens reguarly has traffic cops and its very easy to tank it down if you get carried away :smw:
  16. Great news mate. Its the most important rung of the ladder. Once you've done your first job you are officially an 'IT pro' and everything opens up then :)
  17. Very nice mate, I like Beemers.
  18. I'm down in Hayle at the mo, but I'm in the Rex :)
  19. Only way I can have two birds at the same time :)
  20. Hi Lisa, I'm planning on driving up but can't confirm until near to the day as I've only just got to Cornwall (nice 5hr drive!) and don't know what we are doing yet.
  21. Pmsl, nice pic!
  22. Eek! He wont forget to tighten his wheel nuts again!
  23. I've got a carbon fibre one for sale mate. Its from my Rx7: I'm not sure how much this one was originally but Reworx (Rx7 tuners) are selling a similar one for £800 odd squids. This one has a small crack on one of the plastic bits that connects a strut, should just be a quick glue fix (its been like it on my car for a year). Looking for £200ono
