  1. Happy Birthday bud! You, I and John Lennon share the same birthday!
  2. Wow looks great Andy. Was after swapping mine, only cos the leather is a bit tatty around the edge in parts and feels crap when ur driving. Might have a go at that myself when I'm clear of other domestic related projects...
  3. 60 mins ago/every day Trentham Gardens Meet/Classsic Car Show
  4. I have a theory that the dinosaurs secretly had V12 4x4's, plasma tv's and brontosaurus-dung-fuelled power stations that caused the ice age, as 'man' wasn't even around for a few billion years after this!!
  5. She looks stunning m8; my youngest lad's was a fortnight back. Was similarly proud to see him all suited-and-booted.....didn't have these prom things in our day m8, eh?
  6. That's some grip on them tyres m8!
  7. Yeah, in principle that's right. What I was alluding to was (in my opinion) that it is not always good practise to do this. I removed the door once off a 5 Series BMW and had to disconnect several multi-plugged devices on the door card (with no keys in ignition) Some of these were airbags, and after connecting back, was left with an airbag light. the battery was still connected though and the ECU was flagging up that the airbags had been unplugged and could only be reset by BMW (or somebody with BMW OBd2 type software/connectors). The advice I received following this was to disconnect the battery prior to any such task in the future, to defeat the ECU..... I know the control box in this thread is not airbag related, as the car doesn't even have them; but using the "once bitten, twice shy" approach, wanted to know what it was before unplugging/removing (if its surplus to requirements).
  8. Ur right Wes, it does. That's what I thought it prob was when I found it, but its Nissan branded and the car doesn't have a factory alarm, it has a GT Thatcham one......unless its had a factory and been bypassed/disabled......
  9. Yeah nice one. Like ABS, airbags n stuff......that'd certainly make a ride interesting..... Tbh if it's the front parking aeriel like Tubz sed, it hasn't worked since I've had it, so unplugging it wouldn't tell me much.......but thanks for ur idea anyway!
  10. Nice 1 Tubz, yeah I still got parkin aeriel on frnt bumper and aforementioned switch, although it has never worked under my ownership...
  11. I thought that at first m8, but it driver door key will only open drivers door, nothing else. The 'ignition' key is red. This won't open drivers door but will open passenger door, and bobs work ignition. It won't do the glovebox though, as wont the driver door key....
  12. Just to clarify m8, is this related to the button to release the ignition key or something to do with the steering lock? Haven't ever tested to see if steering lock works tbh...
  13. .......I was guessing maybe something for the cruise control?
  14. Thanks Mark. The release works, so it may have been swapped at some stage. The ignition key and door key don't match, but the ignition key fits the boot and passenger door, so I initially presumed the drivers lock had been swapped. I tried googling that part number Tom, but was none the wiser what a neon control pole was, if that was it....
  15. Asked this previously but didn't get a definitive response....now I've learned to post pics in a thread to show what I'm on about, I'll throw it out there again..... Dropped the lower dash trim under the steering wheel the other week and found 2 things dangling behind it that clearly shouldn't be dangling there! One is a black box with a number 12 on it, the other is a white springy/contact sort of connection; both shown in pics below...... Cheers for lookin Steve J
  16. Jimmy Jones.........
  17. won't be making this one, got my campervan booked in for its MOT 2mrw so going to be busy.......might try n do the bacon butty meet Sunday if not otherwise engaged....
  18. .....it's difficult to see cos it's under one of the thicker pipes.....
  19. I had a similar issue when I bought mine. It had a cutting out problem that turned out to be a faulty Mass Air Flow meter. During me mauling about under the bonnet, on the passenger side/plenum/battery area I too found a 'mystery pipe' that had come away from something and disappeared into the wheel arch somewhere at the other end. Took me about 2 days to eventually find where it had come off. Have a look at this pic, the orange arrow is pointing to where it fits/came away......hope this might help Steve J
  20. Warbuton Bridge, over the Manchester Ship Canal just outside of Warrington. It's something like 10p each way, but 25p return......figure that one out if u can!
  21. Only took a few pics, will have another atempt at this pic-posting lark on here (don't hold ur breath though)
  22. Great day out guys (cheers dicky for organising). Didn't realise how hot it was - came home with a 'T-Shirt-Suntan' leaving me redder than my Zed! What a great cross-section of cars we had. Really interesting how everybody has their own slant/touches/personal stamp on their Zeds.... Did anybody get any pics/video of the 20 Zed convoy we had en route to the show? I was up front behind Daz & Grey going under the tunnels and we all gave it the beanz, sounded totally awesome!!
  23. Yeah bud, I'll be jumping on @ J22 M6, heading Stoke bound at around 8ish (might be a bit earlier if I don't over-do the snooze button and get the sniff of the all-day-brekkie!)
