  1. Just as I was getting settled in, it's moved somewhere! Where is it hiding now, anybody know? I've had a 'man-look' as the missus would call it, but can't find it again...
  2. No prob for me Rich, my reg is on all my photos/blogs etc. anyway.... 300zx TT 2+2 Auto, J309 RTT in Red.
  3. My eldest lad is a graphic designer, degrees at Uni, does vector art and all that shit, he's kicking about on a nil-hours temp contract job at the minute, sure he'd have a look at it for u if u tell us what u want doing. He's got a few published web designs under his belt already for a few charities etc, wouldn't do his CV any harm I'm sure.....drop us an email if u want, he can only say no....stejATlive.co.uk
  4. Mmmmmm................baaaaaaaaconnnnnnnnn...........
  5. Sounds like a plan, me too!
  6. I have hotmail set up on my iPhone/iPad, u can set up to receive notifications whenever an email comes through (u get a little red number at side of 'mail' app on home screen). Once hotmail is set up u don't need to log in every time to access it either.....I use this all the time and only use PC if I need to send a letter or fancy attachment of some sort.....
  7. Sorted the issue of whether or not to paint my standard wheels......decided not to, and ditched em for a 'new' set that I picked up for a steal :thumbup1: These were on it when I first went looking at it and swapped to standards following price bartering....bloke still had em and wrangled a deal to get them out of his way! http://s1278.photobucket.com/user/stevej6904/media/image_zps5a565ca7.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3
  8. Ok fixed the horn. That was a bum steer - for some reason it was wired to an aftermarket in-line switch that was fitted next to the fog. Wasn't sure what it did so tucked it up away. In the process of trying to work out what it's purpose was I obvs flicked it on & off and left it in the off position. Struggling to think of a reason for this switch though tbh...... Anyway, nothing to do with the white thing. I'm still looking for positive confirmation as to what the 2 aforementioned mystery items are. I've taken a few more pics and tagged them onto the end of the blog about me trims, if anybody would care to have a shufty for us.....
  9. Cheers. I'm pretty sure it's down to this white spring loaded contact thing in the blog pic that I was asking about earlier though. Seems too much of a coincidence. Will explore further over weekend...
  10. Cheers Rich. I have seen some mk2 MR2's with Z32 TT rims on, but again, not sure if there is a need for jiggery-pokery with spacers etc. for them to fit.....
  11. Been out in the zed today for the first time since I swapped the trims over.....came to use my horn near a school at letting out time when some dippy kids decided to step out in front of me with their backs towards me, not even looking if the road was clear....horn didn't work. Deffo working prior to the trim refit....the white thing with the spring looks favourite now for this problem, but can't see how it's come away just by dropping the lower dash trim. Didn't touch the steering cowling etc....
  12. Still mulling over the wheels on my new zed. got a guy not too far from me flogging what looks to be half decent set off darkish gold 5spoke type (not Toyota, some generic alloy make avb or something) off his MK2 MR2, 17 x 8jj 38 and 17x9jj 35, with tyres for £200 Ono. Tyres on front are prob a bit too skinny for a zed 205/40/17, backs are 245/35/17's. anybody know if these would slot on without any mither? Was looking at being cheeky & bidding £40 a corner at weekend.....
  13. Might be worth buying just for that Flux Capacitor, they're like rocking horse shit nowadays.......
  14. Miles better m8, made up with em. Cheers. Got a bit of jiggery-pokery to do with the doors cos I got the older doorfixed seatbelts, but not a massive drama.....
  15. I'll try n get a better pic of the white thing, but its got some sort of spring loaded contact inside, not dissimilar to the bushes on a washing machine or power drill. It seems to lead up to the steering column/ignition barrel area.....
  16. Ur prob right on that one cos I found the relay to the cat 1 alarm under there too, and it seemed to have a feed off/to this. That will be handy to know when I come to sort remote central locking out....
  17. Hi guys, been swapping my trims over today with the ones I bought from Baz on here recently. While I was doing the driver side under-dash trim I came across 2 items dangling loose behind it, that clearly shouldn't have been (just dangling that is). The first one is a Nissan-labelled black box with a multi-plug going in to it. There is a metal bracket fixed to it that obvs should be used to attach it to something as a permanent fixing. Not overly concerned at this as it doesn't seem to be doing much harm loose for the time being....the other thing however, looks more like it has broken off something or been removed? (Possibly hicas or something?) it is a white plastic plug typed thing with a black wire and a red wire feeding it. It has some sort of spring loaded connector inside it..... I have updated my new zed blog with the new trim progress, and added 2 pics at the end of the 2 offending items, for anybody free to have a look for us and she'd some light on what they are, and more importantly what the second white connector thing should be doing.......http://steveszed.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/trims.html Cheers in advance....
  18. I've had a Parott Bluetooth kit in my work car for the last 6 years, it's never missed a beat and automatically pairs when u jump in, so once fitted u sort of just forget about it till ur gone rings. It's hard wired to the radio iSO connectors though, so not easily transferred. I bought a second FM tuner type one that I have as a spare when it's off the road and I'm using a spare motor without hands free. Just plugs into cig lighter & tunes to an empty FM frequency on ur radio. It's not bad as a put-me-over grafter and was only about £15 from Maplin. For a more transferable bit of kit, as well as the earpieces (not a massive fan of these tbh) it's worth bearing in mind a Bluetooth sat nav. TomTom do them. I had an old TomTom 500 that I used as a hands free kit before the Parott, which is obviously just thrown in ur pocket when u swap cars etc. I bought a cheap eBay one last year for my campervan that does the same, but its about a 7 or 8" screen and takes SD cards for movies n stuff. That was about £65 by a company called Kogan in Australia. Battery life isn't brilliant but it comes with cig lighter lead and is really slim....
  19. That looks the biz mate. :thumbup1:
  20. Fella at back of me had loads of carp nicked by a heron m8! He ended up puttin a discrete, green net-thing over his pond to keep the blighters out....
  21. .....don't think they're wifi but they record to SD card (or similar) so u can just pop it into ur pc/laptop whilst necking morning coffee and discover what sort of creature has been lurking with your loaches!
  22. They actually make em bud for similar situations, they call them 'nature cams' - http://www.fotosense.co.uk/hawke-pc5000-prostalk-5mp-nature-camera.html can't comment on their effectiveness as I've never used these, but the spec looks pretty decent for the price, and I have done a fair bit of cctv over the years...
  23. Yeah, I would do mate, but the car is alread becoming a money-sponge! I am going to have to plan my work/investments on it a bit more carefully. I think I will probably upgrade the wheels from stock eventually, so would be better making-do with my standards and putting money towards a 'new' set rather than buy an interim set to tide me over, although the 'new' ones I buy will almost certainly not be new! Thats why my thoughts were around painting, just to add a bit of personalisation to my motor as a cheap alternative for the time being....
  24. yeah, mine had a cutting out issue at around 4k before I bought it. Car dealer tried to fob it off as a limiter that had been put on for insurance purposes by previous owner, lol. Problem was it cut out dead and only kicked back in if u took ur foot off gas pedal quickly, otherwise it died completely. I ponted out that this was actually quite a dangerous thing for an insurance company to do, particularly if u were pulling out at a junction or roundabout and that a limiter should just peak out, like u say Jeff, as if its maxed out.... The cutting out on mine was in fact the MAF which I replaced and all is now fine....
